Introduction

Work stress is a phenomenon, increasingly frequent, that is increasing in our society


because we have to constantly face new challenges or challenges in our
professional and personal life in the world of work, responsibility, constant changes,
difficult decision-making, new professional demands, they can be various sources of
stress for the current professional, that is why learning to identify the signs of stress,
prevent them and develop concrete strategies for their management becomes an
increasingly important task for both organizations and the worker.
Summary: Job stress

Work-related stress is one of the main consequences of exposure to unfavorable


psychosocial. Stressors or psychosocial risk factors are Stress triggers, but there
are also modulating or moderating factors that can buffer the harmful effects of such
stressors on the health of the population worker. Stress entails different responses
in the individual: physiological, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral, there are
specific stress manifestations associated with the use of information and
communication technologies (ICT), such as techno-stress or techno-addiction, which
must be addressed preventively through primary prevention and/or secondary,
acting on people and/or technology itself. On a theoretical level, there are various
explanatory models of stress, such as demand-control-social support of or the effort-
reward imbalance, among others, such as that of labor demands and resources, that
of loss of resources or the vitamin model.

Stress arises in situations of daily life in which the individual interacts with, for
example, the work context, because they are present response generating
environmental stimuli physiological interpreted positively or negatively, according to
the adaptive capacity of each person. The bases that generate work stress the most
related are work overload, lack of organizational support, disorganization, in aspects
such as lack of resources, inadequate communication, social relationships,
dynamics of work, management styles, as well as lack of role clarity, organizational
climate, schedules of extensive work, few staff and conditions physical noise,
temperature, environment, etc. The consequences of stress are shown in short,
medium, and long term, with physiological sequelae such as gastrointestinal
difficulties, aches and pains muscle, headaches, among others; They are also the
emotional sequelae that generate anxiety, depression, irritability, sleep problems
and other symptoms. Additionally, in the plan cognitive, concentration and memory,
which leads to mistakes in the assigned tasks.
Conclusion

Stress is a prevalent problem in the organizational context that is generated by


multiple factors associated with working and personal conditions and originates in
the individual physiological consequences and mental disorders that affect their
performance and productivity, hence, it is necessary to encourage a preventive
culture that promotes the health of employees.
