To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is to provide a reference for Nicole Shelkop. I had the privilege of supervising
Nicole a as a Student Assistant in our Innovation Lab for the School of Instructional Technology
and Innovation from 6/28/21 to 7/24/22. As the Instructional Technology Coach for the Bagwell
College of Education, I collaborate with faculty on designing sessions to integrate innovation,
creativity, and technology into the classroom. Nicole was vital in supporting my role and
contributed to the success of our sessions offered to faculty, staff, visiting K-12 teachers and
students, district leaders, members from the Georgia Department of Education, and the
Governor’s office.

Nicole’s work, in one word, is exemplary. I gave her directions and knew without reservation
that she would complete work on time. There were many days when we had multiple sessions
and quick turnaround of setup and breakdown was required. With a team of student assistants,
various jobs were assigned, and I often asked Nicole to take a leadership role to ensure that all
work was completed correctly. I asked for and valued her opinion in designing maker activities
that align with course and assignment objectives. She worked with me as a co-designer on some
of our coding activities. I depended on her to test and give feedback before official rollout of
activities. I introduced her at every session and shared with our visitors how much I valued her
work and the important role she played on our team.

Nicole arrived early or on-time at every shift and would adjust her work schedule, if possible, to
be available for evening sessions. During sessions, if additional materials were needed, she
would retrieve and make them available before I made the request. She kept a pulse on the lab
and took initiative in gathering last minute supplies or stepped in to provide extra support. She
worked diligently on designing, decorating, and building artifacts using the latest classroom and
maker technologies. She created beautiful maker and video projects that were used as exemplars.

Nicole has a great work ethic, is very kind, compassionate, and an outstanding team player. She
has great experience in integrating maker technologies into lessons and will be a champion for
inspiring creativity, innovation, and integrating technology in the classroom. I highly
recommend Nicole Shelkop and know that she will be a great teacher for your district.
