Installation/Training Protocol - D3

Dates: December 2007

Purpose: This document provides guidance to members of the Drew-Scientific team in order to
facilitate smooth installations and training of the D3 Hematology System.

Procedure:

• Unpack D3 and locate to desired location.

• Following procedures in the Operators Manual, section 3, Install the D3 per Instruction.

• Perform a Start Cycle with Background.

• Go to the Maintenance Menu -> Preventative Maintenance -> Bleach. Perform the
Bleaching Procedure as outlined in 10.2.1.1 of the Operators Manual.

• Run all three levels of EX-Trol in Patient Mode, to determine that control results are
coming within calibratable limits of the D3.

• Run a Normal Patient 7 times. Calculate CV and verify CV meets specifications.

• Begin Training covering following Topics.

1. Morning Start-up. (Power On, Log-In, Start Cycle, Backgrounds)

2. Controls. (Entering QC Assay Data. Both by Manual entry and USB. Backing
up Data to USB)

3. Running Patients. (Direct Mode, Micro-vette and Pre-Dilute Mode as required)

4. Calibration. (Entering Calibrator Assay Data. Both by Manual entry and USB)

5. Maintenance (Bleaching, Needle Service, Dilutor Lubrication, Archiving)

6. End 0f Day Procedures (Shutdown)

• Instruct on Correlation and Linearity Procedures.
