Welcome to the Emily Carr University of Art + Design Library. The Library collection is composed of print resources including books, journals and exhibition catalogues; a broad range of electronic resources; slides and digital images; films, videos and DVDs; sound effects; artists' books; the Universitys archives; and a menu collection. The primary focus of the collection is on contemporary art, media and design, along with related materials to support art and design history, and critical and cultural studies.

HOURS:
The Library is closed statutory holidays and any days the Institute is closed Hours including summer hours and changes to hours are posted on the library door and on the Library website at http://www.ecuad.ca/library/about/hours
LIBRARY CARDS:
Community Borrower Library Cards are issued at the Circulation Desk Valid identification with current address is required at time of registration Please notify the Library immediately in case of lost card or change of address
FEES:
$30.00 / 6 month membership OR $60.00 / 12 months membership 50% discount for Alumni Society Members Current Alumni membership cards must be presented at the time of issuing a library card
BORROWING PRIVILEGES:
A current ECU Community Borrower Library Card is required to borrow books
**Magazines, Course Reserve Materials, Slides, Sound Recordings, Exhibition Catalogues and all other materials are available for use in the Library only. Due to licensing restrictions, DVDs and videos are not available for loan to Community Borrowers. They may be viewed in the ECU Library. **
LOAN PERIODS:
2 WEEK LOAN; MAXIMUM 5 ITEMS Books may be renewed if not requested by other borrowers The renewal period is the same as the loan period Please note, there is a limit of 2 renewals per item No holds or recalls on items
OVERDUE NOTICES: Notices regarding overdue library materials, fines and holds will be sent to the home address or personal
email address.
COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS:
Duplication of slides, films, videos, and sound recordings of the collection is strictly prohibited by copyright law
PHOTCOPYING + PRINTING:
Photocopying and printing are available in the library as follows: 2 black & white copiers 10 per copy (accepts cash or copy card) 1 black & white printer 10 per page (accepts copy cards only) Copy cards are available for purchase at the Library Circulation Desk or from the copy card dispensing machine at the entrance of the cafeteria in the North Building
