EXECUTIVE ORDER NO.08 -2018

ESTABLISHMENT OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND CHILDRES (VAWC) DESK AND


DISGNATING VAWC DESK OFFICWER IN THE BARANGAY OF CABRITAN

WHEREAS, the state condemns discrimination against women in all from forms and pursue by all
appropriate means and without delay the policy of eliminating discrimination against women. The
state shall accord women and children protection. Rights and opportunities available to every
member society

Whereas, Chapter IV, Section 9, Protection from the violence of the same Act. Provide for the
establishment of a Violence against Women and their Children (VAWC) Desk in every barangay to
ensure that violence against women and children cases are fully addressed.

Whereas, Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2010-2 of DILG. DSWD, DepEd, DOH and Philippines
Commission On women provides the guidelines and procedures pursuant to provision of the
Implementing Rules and Regulation RA9710 that there is a need to establish VAWC Desk in every
local government unit and designating officer thereat

NOW. THEREFORE, JOEL B. CUISON, a Punong Barangay of Barangay Local Government of


Cabaritan – San Manuel, Pangasinan, by the virtue of power vested in my my law, do herby order.

Section 1. Establishment of Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) Desk in the
Barangay of Cabritan and Designating collection officer Harold Nisperos Desk officer.

Section 2. Function of Barangay VAWC Desk

1. Respond to gender-based violence cases brought before the barangay.


2. 2Record the number of gender-based violence handled by the Barangay and submit a
quarterly report all cases of VAWC to the DILG Municipality field Office (MLGOO) and
Municipal Social Welfare Development Office (MSWDO).
3. Keep VAWC case record confidential and secured, and ensure that only authorized
personnel can access it.
4. Assist victim of VAWC in securing Barangay Protection Order (BPO) and access necessary
services.
5. Develop the Barangay gender responsive plan in addressing gender based violence,
including support services, capacity building and referral system.
6. Coordinate with refer cases to government agencies, non-government organization (NGO)
institutions and other marginalized groups
7. Address other forms of abuse committed against women especially senior citizen with
disabilities and other marginalized group
8. Lead advocacies on the elimination of VAWC in the community.
9. Perform order related functions as may be assigned.

Section 3 .Effectively

This executive Order shall take immediately and only other prior issuances is herby repeated.
