The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a globally recognized credential for

within a four-hour time limit. The exam covers five domains of project management:

4. Monitoring and Controlling
5. Closing

Steps to Become a Certified PMP

management education. PMI will review your application within five business days.
2. Payment: Once your application is approved, you will receive instructions to make the
payment for the exam.
3. Exam Scheduling: After making the payment, you can schedule your exam at a Prometric
testing center near you. You have one year to schedule and take the exam.
4. Exam Preparation: Use study materials, online resources, and practice exams to prepare for
the PMP certification exam. Familiarize yourself with the PMBOK Guide (Project Management
Body of Knowledge) as it is the primary reference for the exam.
5. Exam Day: On the day of the exam, arrive at the testing center on time. Bring a valid ID and
any other required documents. The exam is computer-based, and you will receive the results
immediately after completing it.
6. Certification: If you pass the exam, you will receive your PMP certification within a few weeks.
Maintain your certification by earning Professional Development Units (PDUs) every three years
to demonstrate your continued professional growth.
