1.1 Purpose of the Report

Refugees and their rights. As we saw in Paris on 10 December 1948 the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the UN General Assembly during
its 183rd plenary meeting Article 14 that “Everyone has the right to seek and to
enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution” and “This right may not be
invoked in the case of prosecutions genuinely arising from non-political crimes or
from acts contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations”.
In this report we will talk about refugee history, types, rights, and we will talk
about their day and two important refugee agencies. We will discuss all these topics
critically and in impartial way.

1.2 Background of the Report

The main objective of the human rights is to give the humans their rights in a
proper way and make sure that everybody in the world as a human benefit of these
rights and can enjoy it.
Refugees’ human rights ensures that anybody as a human has the right to
asylum to any country they want and enjoy it under certain circumstances.

1.3 Scope of the Report

This report provides a critical discussion about the refugees and their asylum
rights. We will also talk about their history that starts from ancient times such as the
migration of Muslims from Mecca to Medina. And their types such as anticipating
refugees, displaces-anticipating refugees, displaces-war refugees, semi-refugees …
etc.
Also, we will talk a little bit about two important agencies such as The United
Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and The United Nations Relief
and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
