QUESTION 1
1. In the diagram below, ∆𝑃𝑄𝑆, is drawn with vertices 𝑃(−2; 3),
𝑄 (3 ; 6) and S in a Cartesian plane.

Line QS passes through the origin at O.

𝑃𝑆||𝑄𝑅 and 𝑃𝑆̂𝑄 = 20,23°

1.1 Calculate the gradient of QS. (2)

1.2 Calculate the size of 𝜃. (2)

1.3 Determine the gradient of PS, rounded off to the nearest integer. (4)

1.4 Hence, determine the equation of PS. (2)

1.5 Show that the coordinate of S is (−3; −6). (4)

1.6 If it is further given that PQRS is a parallelogram, determine the (2)

coordinates of R.
1.7 If 𝑃 (−2 ; 3), 𝑄 (3; 6) and 𝑇 (𝑘 ; 12) are collinear points, determine (4)
the value of 𝑘.
