Should Cell Phones Be Allowed for Children?

It's tough to remember a period before cell phones. Many of us rely on our phones
throughout the day to stay in touch with our businesses, friends, and families. Whether
we like them or not, cell phones have become an indispensable part of our culture, and
their usage is unlikely to be stopped anytime soon.

Even children are now carrying cell phones, not just for emergencies. but to
communicate with friends via text messaging.

So, what are the benefits and drawbacks of permitting kids to carry a cell phone?

There is no doubt that a cell phone becomes an indispensable tool for a child to employ
in an emergency. We live in a difficult and occasionally deadly world. Keeping in
constant contact with your child via cell phone can help protect their personal safety and
bring peace of mind.

In dangerous situations, children have used cell phones to call their parents or authority.
Some people have even utilized their phone cameras to ward off or identify predators.
Furthermore, as children get older, responsible cell phone ownership allows them to
have more independence than when they were younger.

On the other side, having a cell phone might have a detrimental impact on a child.
These phones can be a source of distraction in school and elsewhere.

Worryingly, phones make it easier for children to get text messages and photographs
that their parents may not approve of. Furthermore, medical authorities have already
stated that there may be risks to having intense cellular waves so close to a developing
body on a frequent basis.
