Career SUMMARY
I am a qualified instrumentation mechanician from Arcelor
Mittal Works. I studied instrumentation at Sasol Tech and I
currently have N5 and I recently registered at Sasol tech as
a part-time student for completion of my N6. At the moment I am working for Masaseni
Trading and I am working at Lethabo Power Station Eskom. My objective is to work and
associate with a good company where I can implement my skills that I gained during the
course of my experience and be an asset to the company. I qualified in 2014 in the field of
instrumentation mechanician.
I worked with ABB in the Blast Furnace D plant in Vanderbijlpark as an instrument
mechanician relining and refurbishing the sole blast furnace control system at the plant. With
the ABB system we controlled the overall process including stockhouse and charging, the
bell-less top, the casthouse, hot blast stoves, slag treatment, gas cleaning water cooling
system and pulverized coal preparation and injection.
My competencies include:
 Calibration of field instruments, flow, level pressure and temperature.
 Configuration and set-up on the field.
 ABB, Allen Bradley and Siemens S7.
 Rockwell, Siemens AC and DC drive configurations and setup.
 Fault-finding and loop checks, PLC programming, SCADA design and optimization
of instruments.
 Architecture, Ethernet and Control configurations.
 Valve Stroke checking and remote stroking
 Thermocouple commissioning/Thermocouple installation and wiring.

Responsibilities:
Investigate and diagnose Control and Instrumentation related problems and breakdowns
to determine resource requirements and procedures.
Doing repairs and maintenance work on all Control and Instrumentation equipment and
control systems in order to comply with product technical specifications.
Continuously analyse equipment efficiencies to recommend and implement
improvements and changes to maximize operational efficiencies.
