9 a In a big City 325 men out of 600 men were found to be smokers. CO5 PO1, 7M
Does this information support the conclusion that the majority of the PO2
men in this city aresmokers?

b Analysis of a random sample consisting of n1 = 20 specimens of cold- CO5 PO1, 7M

strength of x = 29.8ksi.A second random sample of n2 = 25 two sided PO2
galvanized steel specimens gave a sample average strength of y =
34.7ksi. Assuming that the two yield strength distributions are
normal with σ 1= 4.0 and σ 2 = 5.0.does the data indicate that the
corresponding true average yield strengths µ1and µ2 are different?
