Jen Callahan

'My artistic talent has been nurtured since I was a young child. My mom was a studio
watercolour artist, who introduced me to the arts in grade school.

As a teen, I was in the Gifted Art Program as well as a College Scholarship program for high
school students. In 2000 I earned a degree in applied science which focused on graphic and
CIS web design. From 2000 to 2007 I continued my studies with the arts as well as opened a
studio to sell, display, and teach art to children at Liberty Town Fine Arts Center in
Fredericksburg, Virginia.
In 2007 I closed my studio and started displaying my paintings at indoor and outdoor art
festivals. I enjoy the thrill of showing my work in new exciting places and currently show at
festivals year-round. I work from my new custom home studio in North Port, Florida.

I use water-based paints and like to combine my painting technique between watercolour and
acrylics as well as experiment with different painting surfaces and styles. My emotions come
out with each painting, and I tend to use colours that make me happy. Sometimes I disregard
what is presented in real life and express it in a different way. Art is a way to share my
personality with someone as they look at my paintings. One of art's rewards is knowing that
others get joy from viewing my artwork.

I sincerely hope that people everywhere will enjoy viewing my artwork as much as I enjoy
creating it'.
