Pronoun

Pronoun is a word which is used instead of a noun.

Instead of saying that - Listen to Rama, Rama is singing.


We should say that- : Listen to Rama, he is singing.

Rewrite the following sentence correctly:

Govind and Ganpat are here to meet Ram. Govind and Ganpat have come here to meet Ram. Ram
will be glad to meet Govind and Ganpat.

Kinds of Pronouns
I. Personal Pronouns.
The pronouns which refer to for the names of persons or things are called Personal Pronouns.

Read the following sentences and underline the personal pronouns:
• I myself saw him do it.
• We will see to it ourselves.

II. Emphatic Pronouns

For emphasis, with a noun or pronoun, Emphatic Pronouns are used. The object and the subject
refer to the same person or thing.
Examples:
I myself opened the window.
The fan itself stopped moving.
She hurt herself.
