Dear Abhilash,
Please see our response in green. Please kindly let me know if you need anything from me. Thank you.
1‐ We recommend RF pump flanges instead of FF. Response from Pulsafeeder: Not Incorporated.
1
Plastic flanges generally don’t have a raised face like metal flanges. Our standard Plastic flange we buy has
two to three raised ribs on the surface for sealing on the gasket. Below is a image from their catalog. The
past Kynar/PVDF flange we purchased did have a more uniform face. Hence, the Flange Face shall be FF.
RF facing mentioned in R0 was a typo error. ALB/JBC response: agree on FF, however kindly we need the
vendor to provide the torque values for all flanges and advise if Nord lock washers (X‐series ‐ belleville
washers) can be used on these flanges?
2‐ To confirm Backup ring for the Pulsation dampener flanges if this applicable again. Response from
Pulsafeeder: This point is not incorporated. Please refer "Attachment ‐ 1 ‐ Email communication" Point No.
3, wherein we had mentioned the following. "We can’t provide CS/ PVDF Lined flanges. We are offering
PVDF flanges. SS backing flanges / rings are not applicable for the offered dampeners." ALB/JBC response,
no more comments
3‐ To update the vendor’s DS to match with our DS, there are missing data like SG and vapor pressure.
Understood and will update
4‐ Let us please check with Pulsafeeder if it possible to provide ceramic ball for the check valves instead of
PVDF in this stage (although PVDF is approved MOC), but the last time they supply spare base shaft pump to
JBC for the existing plant they upgraded the MOC for the ball to be ALA Alumina Ceramic, let’s check with
them please. Response from Pulsafeeder: This point is not incorporated. Note that we have currently
offered Disc type check valve and not ball type check valves. Refer Pump Cross‐sectional Drawing & Sec.
5.09 of the pump datasheet for more details. For higher flows, it is much better to have disc type check
valves instead of ball type check valves. Please re‐check and confirm whether you require ball type check.
ALB/JBC response, agree this is the first time we try disc type on these pumps, but it worth to try it, however
we need confirmation from the vendor about the dimension (face to face distance ) of the disc type if it is
the same as ball check valve dimension, this is just in case we need to install the ball type in the future..?
5‐ They should provide the calculation for the pulsation dampener, is pulsation dampener capacity and size
correct? The size is 1” while pump is 2”.
Response from Pulsafeeder: Attachment ‐ 2 ‐ PD Calculation, ALB/JBC response, no comments
