About Lohum Cleantech :

Lohum Cleantech is one of the few deep tech startups in India that is building a giga-scale brick and
mortar business.

We are on a mission to advance global climate technology via a vertically integrated Lithium-ion
battery lifecycle management framework. We aim to become the world’s largest producer of
sustainable battery raw materials through a combination of:

1. Repurposing -
Developing cutting edge algorithms to estimate the remaining life in batteries and deploying
them in second life applications
2. Recycling -
Extract critical raw materials like lithium, cobalt, nickel, and graphite from dead batteries
3. Refining -
Using low-carbon technologies and recycled raw materials to produce materials that can be fed
back into the battery manufacturing process.

The critical battery raw materials we recover and recirculate to the market lower battery costs, reduce
reliance on mining, and advance energy security for all.

We host single-point solutions to overcome industry-wide obstacles to sustainable energy storage.

Our
zero-waste processes are set to power the entire industry while saving 4 Million Tons of GHG
emissions
by 2024.

We currently have three factories. Together, they have the capacity to recycle 1 GWh, reuse 300
MWh,
and dismantle 300 MWh worth of batteries. Each of these capacities are planned to grow by about
20x
in the next 3 years.

We also have three laboratories to research the different stages in the life cycle of a battery, along
with significant investments in software development and data science.

We are a global firm with a presence in both India and the US. We are backed by some marquee
PE/VC
investors and are profitable.

Atoms, Bits, Coulombs (ABC) Programme:

How do you leverage technology to make real, tangible things in a fast, inexpensive, and energy
efficient manner?
This is the defining question of our age.

Lohum is looking to groom a generation of leaders to tackle this very problem. The ABC Programme
is
an attempt in that direction. We are looking for smart, young, talented folks who can think of solutions
from A,B, and Cs i.e. first principles.

Some details about it:

1. ABC Fellows will undergo a rigorous 18 month training itinerary.
2. They will get exposure to multiple
a. Functions - engineering, production, R&D, data science, software, operations, sales
b. Business verticals - Battery assembly, Battery second life, Recycling
3. This will be achieved through a series of 3 to 6 months time bound projects
4. Each of these projects will be under the guidance of an experienced mentor

At the end of the 18 months, the ABC Fellows will be assigned permanent roles based on their
inclination and performance.

Responsibilities :
● Drive the assigned projects to a logical conclusion within the given time frame.
● Analyze learnings from each of the projects and recommend next steps.
● Develop an understanding of how the company functions.

Required Skills :
● Strong technical expertise in one or more areas of engineering and sciences.
● Thinking - logical, from first principles, rigorous but being open to new ideas
● Being data oriented
● Ability to work independently.
● Excellent spoken and written communication.

Candidate Learning :
Exposure to and understanding of
● Different types of lithium-ion cell chemistries
● Battery pack design and production
● Battery dismantling
● Battery recycling
● Global battery supply chains and material procurement process

Depending on your performance and inclination, you will get to develop depth in one or more of these.
Apart from this, you will also get to develop key professionals like sales, project management, and
process optimization.
