This document soundly confirms that Maria Gabriela Bermudez Ruiz is a participant in the Cultural Care Au Pair program. This au pair
arrived in the U.S. on 08/30/2021 with a valid J-1 visa, DS-2019, and I-94 record. Maria Gabriela Bermudez Ruiz is currently hosted by
the Oneill family of Silver Spring, MD.
The U.S. Department of State permits J-1 au pairs to provide child care for U.S. host families up to 45 hours per week for the period
covered on the DS-2019 form. The federal regulation governing the program requires au pairs to fulfill an educational component for 6
credits (or the equivalent) at an accredited post-secondary institution during the course of the program. Au pairs receive a weekly
living stipend in accordance with the federal regulations.
In February 2004, the Department of State approved a second year extension program for all au pair sponsors. Maria Gabriela Bermudez
Ruiz elected to participate in this extension program, and paid the program extension fee to the Department of State. Cultural Care Au
Pair entered their second year extension request in SEVIS and the State Department approved the request. Maria Gabriela Bermudez
Ruiz is a legal participant of our program until 08/29/2023. The second year extension program has the same regulations as the first
year.
