and the community engagement and awareness of the Malouf foundaion.
4. Project Scope Statement

Project Purpose / Business Justification


Over the past few years Malouf has been accumilating a stock pile of DNIP/OOP products, and slow moving inventory.
This has been causing space constrants in Malouf Distribution centers. Selling these returns will help cash flow while
actualizing 20-30% margin profit. We would also like to reconnect the Malouf Foundation in Cache County Utah as it has
been 4 years and we recognize the connection and relationship with the local public and private communities that the
Malouf Foundation has in our state.

Objectives/Measurables
3 Million in Gross Sales with a 25% gross sales margin.
Decrease backlog of DNIP/OOP by 70%; clearing up tens of thousands squarefeet of warehouse space.
15% proceeds going to benefit the Malouf Foundation.

Deliverables

1 weeklong Warehouse Sale in Logan Utah.


1 WBS to be used as a roadmap for future Malouf Warehouse Sales.
Re-establish Malouf Foundation Sale with community and employees for connection and engagement.
$450,000 for the Malouf Foundation

Requirements
This project is intented to address the excess inventory situation and to set up a clear, repeatable, future process for
liquidating Excess and Returns through Warehouse sales. This project will be executed by Excess Inventory but it will
include multiple departments; Malouf Foundation, Marketing, and National Distribution, etc. Making this sale a clear
company initiative while providing significant funds towards the Malouf Foundation.

Acceptance Criteria
Marketing assets created and deployed
Product assortment finalized and products delivered.
Pricing set
Sale space, cleared, cleaned and set up appropriately.
Foundation Sale staff and schedule completed
Friends, family, bussiness partners, local leaders notified and asked to participate in the sale to benefit the foundation.

Major Known Risks (including significant Assumptions)


Risk Risk Rating (Hi, Med, Lo)
Not pulling people from surrounding area. High
Creating a clear marketing plan centered around the Med
Foundation in order to aid in driving traffic, and capitalizing
on marketing efforts.
Cleaning/Prepping/Merchandising over 1000 pallets of High
DNIP inventory for Sale.
Merchandising Space Needs. We don’t have significant Med
space, utilizing the space in the best way possible will be
difficult.
Constraints
Staffing- We are going to need some serious man power for preparation and also for the execution of the sale. Significant
employee contribution and time (around 140 employees per day). CTO opportunities available.
Geographical logistics- Preparation will require serious communication and planning because the team is spread
Attendenace- Marketing timing is going to be criticial along with employee engagment and sharing of VIP tickets for VIP
night. Also spreading the word for friends, family, and buisiness partners in the community.
Product Logistics- Timely arrival of product is going to be pivital and could seriously hinder ther success of the sale if
products are not delivered on time.
