The past is a source of inspiration and knowledge for the present and
the future. It allows us to understand where we come from and who
we are. There are many ways to remember the past, such as books,
films, monuments or museums.

A museum is a place where objects of historical, cultural or artistic

value are preserved and exhibited. Its purpose is to inform, educate
and entertain the public. There are museums on every subject, but
today we’re going to talk about a very special museum, The Warner
Bros. Studio Tour London.

The museum is located in Leavesden, about 30 kilometres northwest

of London. It opened its doors in 2012 and offers visitors a behind-
the-scenes look at the Harry Potter movie saga, adapted from J.K.
Rowling’s novels. It is one of the most popular and profitable
franchises in the history of cinema, which has left its mark on
generations of fans.

We decided to choose this museum because we are great admirers of

the magical universe of Harry Potter. We think it is a museum that
will appeal to all ages and tastes, as it offers an immersive and
interactive experience. You can see emblematic scenery such as the
Grande Salle, the Forbidden Forest or the Chemin de Traverse,
authentic accessories such as chopsticks, brooms or horcruxes,
original costumes worn by the actors, special effects that explain
how magic was created on the screen, and much more.

We would recommend this museum to tourists who want to spend an

unforgettable and magical moment. It would take about three hours
to complete the tour, but we could stay there as long as we wanted.
The ticket price would be 47 pounds (about 55 euros) for an adult
and 38 pounds (about 44 euros) for a child. Advance booking on the
museum’s official website would be required as there would be no on-
site sales. The museum would be open every day from 9am to 10pm,
but timetables could vary depending on the season and special
events.

Among the many objects exhibited in the museum, we chose to focus

on an artifact that fascinates us particularly: the model of the
castle of Hogwarts. This is a 1/24 scale reproduction of the famous
College of Witchcraft where the action of the films takes place. It
is 15 metres high by 15 metres wide and was built by a team of 86
artists and artisans for seven months. It was used to make the
castle’s wide shots in all films, using forced perspective and matte
painting techniques.

We decided to select this artifact because we find that it

represents both the beauty and the complexity of Harry Potter’s
world. It is an impressive work of art for its size, precision and
realism. You can admire all the architectural details of the castle,
such as the towers, bridges, windows or gargoyles. We can also see
the changes made over the course of the films, such as the addition
of the Quidditch site or the black lake. It is also a work that
illustrates the colossal and meticulous work of the technical teams
that brought J.K. Rowling’s dream to life.
