TEACHER REFLECTION FORM

(TRF)
TEACHER I
TEACHER: SAJINI P. ESTORERS DATE SUBMITTED:

RATER: MONINA M. EBANO ,PII SUBJECT & GRADE LEVEL: FILIPINO 10

OBJECTIVE 13
Applied a personal philosophy of teaching that is learner-
centered.

Learner Centered Teaching Philosophy

“”All students can learn and want to learn. It is my job to meet them where there are and move them
forward.”

A good teacher cannot begin or continue to inspire learning without being a learner. The
good teacher must constantly learn what is new in the discipline. In fact, the good teacher often
helps to create new knowledge. To live this belief, I must continuously examine my teaching
methods and find new ones.

As a Grade 10 Filipino teacher, I implement a learner-centered approach to education that

prioritizes the needs and interests of my students. On the first quarter most of my competencies
were all about “sistematikong pananaliksik” and by creating an inclusive and supportive
environment, I ensure that each student feels valued and empowered to take control of their own
learning, journey and allowing them to progress at their own speed. Furthermore, I applied
progressivism where in students progress on their own different capabilities, nurturing their own
minds and skills and letting them be developed and enhanced towards their outmost version of
themselves.I as a mentor I am their helping hand to support in control and how they become as
progressive as they are in a better and good way.

On the second quarter, most of my competencies are all about social media and they need to
share their work. As a teacher I let them exist and prepared them for the social changes because
I believe that keys to effective teaching are providing students with simple real-world examples.I
motivate them to discuss what they have learned.

This Quarter reprimand their activities by sharing their own work on social media platform, I
applied Existentialism,in purpose of gaging their own selves in the digital world and be prepared
for all the reality that they will be encounter.

On the third quarter, I applied the philosophy of Constructivism . Students constructs

Essays and Poems from each lessons we tackled. They are efficiently constructing wondrous
literary pieces hence of they are creating lots of ideas and thoughts in a reflection from our
lesson.
On the fourth quarter, I applied pragmantism as my teaching philosophy. It is the most
interesting part of my subject because it is all about Dr. Jose P. Rizal and his second novel
known as “ El Filibusterismo.” Every lessons on this quarter students are watching video clips
I’ve shown to them about the novel, El Filibusterismo. And after that, the pragmantism exists
because of students will have their own world and be one of the characters of the novel. They will
be given enough time to practice and then they will perform a mini theater as a reflection on
each clip they had watched. In this scenario students learned the novel by learning through
experience.

In conclusion, the most dominant philosophy of education I applied are Progressivism,

Existentialism, Constructivism and Pragmantism. Based on what I had observed on my entire
school life, students are having meaningful learning when they are actively involved in learning
activities that they have interest in. Actual and experiential learning are important and will
develop individual learner’s creativity and imagination. They are mold and be the best version of
themselves by letting them enhance their own capability through experience.Education for a
betterment is to make a student be independent yet having an enough support system from their
mentor. Guiding them Mentally, Socially, Spiritually, and Physically. Students are given the
freedom to learn, to exist and find essence of life. And made them realized the Education is their
companion and hope not their destruction nor barrier.

YOUR REFLECTIONS
