Financial Challenges
The biggest challenges we faced with planning this birthday party was cost. My
husband and I are both still in school completing our undergrad so money is very
tight. We wanted to give our son a good first birthday party while still keeping
things realistic and affordable. I looked at three or four different stores to get a
better understanding of their prices so we could get the best pricing possible. I
chose Walmart because they had the cheapest overall prices for the best quality
or quantity.

Reflection
Planning for this project was simple. I thought that I would have everything
organized and ready to go without problem. That was not the case. I found myself
having to improvise a lot of things that I didn’t anticipate needing to figure out. The
transition from going to the pool to getting to my in-laws house wasn’t planned out. I
didn’t know what time to tell people we would be eating dinner so I had to figure it
out at the pool and make sure everyone was ok with that time. I wish I had thought
of more details to make the party a little bit better for everyone. I ended up needing
to ask for a lot of help from my in-laws to get everything set up and ready. My
brother-in-law grilled the burgers and hot dogs. My sister-in-law helped me
decorate. And everyone else entertained all the little babies as we set everything up.
