was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the

 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he
would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
Luke 2:21-35 1
 27 So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And
when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for
Him according to the custom of the law,
 28 he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and
said:
 29 "Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in

1. Salvation
 “For my eyes have seen Your salvation. Which You have
prepared before the face of all peoples (Lk 2:30-31)
 Zacharias:
 Lu 1:72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers And to
remember His holy covenant, 73 The oath which He swore to our
father Abraham: 74 To grant us that we, Being delivered from
the hand of our enemies, Might serve Him without fear, 75 In
holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.
 76 "And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; For
you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,
 77 To give knowledge of salvation to His people By the remission
of their sins,
 78 Through the tender mercy of our God, With which the
Dayspring from on high has visited us;
 Acts 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no
other name under heaven given among men by which we
must be saved."
2. Light
 “…A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles… (Lk 2:32)
 Zaharias:
 Lu 1:78 Through the tender mercy of our God, With which the
Dayspring from on high has visited us; 79 To give light to those
who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet
into the way of peace.“
 Paul:
 Acts 26:18 'to open their eyes, in order to turn them from
darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they
may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those
who are sanctified by faith in Me.’
 Col 1:12 ¶ giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be
partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has
delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into
the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have
redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
3. Glory
 “…. And the glory of Your people Israel” Lk 2:32
 Glory through Christ’s Salvation
 Isa 60:1 ¶ Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of
the LORD is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall
cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD
will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. 3 The
Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of
your rising.
 Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the
angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor,
that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.
10 ¶ For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by
whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the
captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both
He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of
one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,
3. Glory
 “…. And the glory of Your people Israel” Lk 2:32
 Glory Through Christ’s Reign
 Rev 21:1 ¶ Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first
heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no
more sea.
 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out
of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
 23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for
the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.
 24 And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and
the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.
 25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night
there).
 26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.
 27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or
causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in
the Lamb's Book of Life.
