CAMAG Automated Multiple Development (AMD 2)

1.0 General information
1.1 Introduction:

AMD is the only method for successful use of reproducible gradient elution with silica gel
as the stationary phase. The AMD2 system is designed for Automated Multiple
Development or gradient development of HPTLC plates.

1.2 Principle of the AMD procedure:

· The chromatogram is developed

repeatedly in the same direction.
· Each partial run goes over a longer
solvent migration distance than the
one before.
· Between partial runs, the solvent is
completely removed from the
developing chamber and the layer is
dried under vacuum.
· Each partial run uses a solvent of
lower elution strength than the one
used before. In this way, a stepwise
elution gradient is formed.
· The combination of focusing effect
and gradient elution results in
extremely narrow bands. Their typical
peak width is about 1 mm. This
means that with the available
separation distance of 80 mm, up to
40 components can be completely
resolved, i.e. with base line
separation.

Note: Since version 1.24, the AMD 2 is controlled by winCATS, the Planar
Chromatography Manager. Like other computer controlled CAMAG instruments, the
AMD 2 communicates with winCATS via a software interface called “EquiLink”.
· The programmed gradient is displayed on the screen.
· To make up the gradient, dosage of solvents is performed by a piston pump.
· The solvent migration distances are monitored by a CCD sensor.

Important: For the installation of the Edwards RV3 vacuum pump, see special instruction.

2.0 Firmware tests and alignments

2.1 General information concerning the Firmware:

The firmware, in addition to the test and alignment functions, contains the start up
program of the AMD2 and acts as an interpreter for the AMD2 / winCATS control
program. After switching ON of the instrument the firmware performs an initialization and
sets the AMD2 ready for control (For more information concerning the AMD2 control
program, consult the AMD2 operating manual or winCATS help for the winCATS control
program).

The firmware program is loaded into a flash EPROM U4 located on the µP module MM-
500, itself plugged onto the "Main board" # 135.0080. If necessary the firmware can be
updated through the CAMAG Universal Firmware Update Program located in the
c:\camag\winCATS directory by the command "Fwupdate.exe". Select the corresponding
serial COM port and baudrate in use (default = 19200) and load up the "AMD2.frm" file
located in the "Firmware" directory of winCATS. To start update, click on the chip icon or click
"Transfer à Start" in the pull down menu (see also winCATS help).

In addition to the firmware flash EPROM, a second flash memory located on the "Main
board" as well, IC U28, also called E2-PROM, holds some AMD2 specific parameters,
e.g. the vacuum measuring range, temperature measuring range, etc.

Note: In case the replacement of the "Main" PCB # 135.0080 becomes necessary, this
E2-PROM (U28) should be taken from the defective board and inserted onto the new
board in order to keep the proper pre-adjusted settings. The E2-PROM (U28) can also be
ordered at CAMAG for a specific AMD2. Hence, when ordering U28, specify the serial
number of the instrument.

2.2 Test list:

The AMD2 contains several test programs stored into a flash-EPROM allowing useful
tests and alignments to be performed directly on the instrument. The operation follows
via front panel (keypad); the use of a PC is not necessary.

Required instruments and alignment tools:

· AMD2/ADC test plate: # 700.1010
· Digital Vacuum meter (range 1100 - 1 mb): # 705.0300 (Fittings # 705.0209)
· Thermometer (reference thermometer)
· Manometers (range 0 - 0.6 bar) # 705.0207 - (range 0 - 6 bar) # 705.0203
· Oscilloscope (optional)
· Digital multimeter

AMD2 Firmware V1.00.17 or higher

Note: For the performance of the test programs the AMD2 must be connected to
vacuum and compressed nitrogen or clean air.

2.2.4 Tubedetector: (not used)

2.2.5 CCD Adj.: CCD adjustment and test of migration monitoring.

Important note: Before carrying out any adjustment on CCD

device, perform first the “Line test“. If the “Line test“ responds within
the permitted range (±0.2 mm) no further adjustment is required.

Ø While carrying out the next adjustment, put the lid on the
chamber and cover the optical device by a dark cloth.

1) Adjustment of base illumination and azimuth position of the LED array.

· Insert the special test plate with line pattern (700.1010) into the
plate holder by means of the plate positioning device and insert it
into the chamber (line pattern toward optical device located left
hand side of the chamber). Adjust the basic illumination using
the potentiometer R2 (CCD adj) located on “Main board“ of the
electronics unit. The correct value is 100 ± 10

· Adjustment of the azimuth position of LED array.

Turn smoothly, left/right, the lever rotating the LED array
(located left side of the CCD device) and adjust it to a minimum
of the base illumination value (= max signal)
Now tight again the array fixing screw - proceed by holding
steadily the adjustment lever while turning slowly the 2.5 mm
Allen screw located on the upper front part of the CCD housing.

· Check / adjust again the base illumination to value 100.

· Now press the END-key to jump to the next step.

2) Focus adjustment of the reflected light to CCD sensor.

· Loosen lightly the 2.5 mm Allen fixing screw located on the upper
part of CCD device (See diagram fig.1). Now by means of a 2.5
mm Allen screwdriver move the optical system slowly toward left
or right side in order to get the maximum signal for Z-1, Z and
Z+1 on LCD display (value ³ 120). Don't tight the upper fixing
screw yet !

Service Manual AMD2.DOC - André Gschwind / 06-2001 / 09-2003 4

Service Manual AMD 2
3) Adjustment of vertical positioning for CCD board.

· This adjustment moves pixel 580 of CCD sensor to reference

line 50 mm. Loosen slightly both screws at the back of the CCD
device. (See diagram fig. 2)
· Move the CCD board very slowly in vertical direction until the
LCD display shows the value 580 for “Peak“.
Ø Value for Z-1 and Z+1 must approximately be identical.
Note: Z represents the reference line 50 mm; Z-1 the reference line
40 mm and Z+1 the reference line 60 mm.
· If necessary repeat adjustment 2 and 3. Tight very slowly the
fixing screws in order to avoid shifting of adjustment.

2.2.6 Line Test: Test of CCD monitoring accuracy.

· Insert the special test plate with line pattern (700.0105) into the
plate holder by means of the plate positioning device and insert it
into the chamber - line pattern towards optical device located on
the left side of the chamber, blank side of plate towards you.
· Put on the chamber lid.
· Read "Line Positions" on LCD display.

Ø 30 / 50 / 70 mm (+ 0.5 mm)

F In case of linearity problems, i.e. line 30 & 70 mm would be out

of range, repeat slightly the focus adjustment (2) of “CCD Adj.“ in
order to improve the scan accuracy for line 30 & 70 mm.

2.2.7 CCD Measur.: Manual check of migration monitoring.

This test simulates a mobile phase over the full migration

monitoring range (5 - 90 mm). Insert a HPTLC plate (20x10) in the
chamber and start the test. Move the plate slowly in vertical way
and read the migration height on the LCD display.
Note: For a better migration simulation, i.e. to get a stable
response, it is recommended to insert an additional black paper into
the chamber. Insert the paper behind the TLC plate.

2.2.8 Pres Measur.: Test and adjustment of the vacuum measurement range.

In order to calculate a calibration curve and thus to display accurate

pressure values, the system needs two calibration parameters, the
atmospheric pressure of the adjustment site and the ultimate
pressure of the pump (£ 2 mb). These parameters are stored in a
special memory (EEPROM U28, also called E2-PROM), which is
located on the Main PCB # 135.0080.

Service Manual AMD2.DOC - André Gschwind / 06-2001 / 09-2003 5

Service Manual AMD 2
Note: The following adjustment process is performed at
CAMAG and must normally not be resumed at customer site.

In case the replacement of the master PCB becomes necessary,

this E2-PROM (U28) should be taken from the defective board and
inserted onto the new board in order to keep the proper pre-
2
adjusted settings. The E -PROM (U28) can also be ordered at
CAMAG for a specific AMD2. Please specify the serial number of
the instrument when ordering U28.

Ø Now, if the calibration parameters are lost or accidentally

overwritten, the following adjustment procedure becomes
necessary:

Additional hint: Up to step (3) the adjustment routine can be quit

without any loss of data in the E2-PROM (parameter memory) by
pressing the RESET-key. If there is decided to perform a new
alignment of the measuring range, it is imperative that the vacuum
pump is activated and the ultimate pressure is reached and
displayed on the reference vacuum meter. In case this requirement
is not fulfilled and the ENTER-key is activated after step (3), wrong
offset values are stored in the E2-PROM (U 28) and the measuring
response would be out of range.

Necessary tool: Reference digital Vacuum meter (range 1100 - 1

mb) connected with a “T“ fitting on the vacuum line at the back of
the AMD2 (Digital vacuum meter # 705.0300)

Ø Before starting the test, remove the chamber lid.

Test / Adjustment procedure:

1) RUN-key starts the test; on LCD display appears in the second

line a value (ex.: + 995 mb) which represents normally the actual
value of the atmospheric pressure inside the chamber.

2) ENTER-key prompts you to confirm the adjustment process.

Adjust P-sensor ? Yes ® <Enter>
The display shows the range R0 - actual atmospheric pressure
stored in the E2-PROM. If necessary, this value can be re-
adjusted to the on-site value by means of trimmer R1
(Pressure Span Adjust) located on “Main board“ of the
electronics unit - read the new value on the reference vacuum
meter.

Ø Before starting step (3), make sure the chamber lid is on and
tighten.

Service Manual AMD2.DOC - André Gschwind / 06-2001 / 09-2003 6

Service Manual AMD 2
3) ENTER- key stores the actual value in the E2-PROM and starts
the vacuum pump.
The displayed pressure range R0 (0..1200 mb) and R1 (0..100
mb) represent the offset values for 2 measuring ranges, i.e. the
upper (atmospheric) and the lower (end vacuum).
Now observe the display of the reference vacuum meter; if the
value is stable and the required ultimate pressure reached, i.e.
£ 2 mb, go to step (4)

4) ENTER-key saves the offset values in the E2-PROM.

The display now shows “Canceling Vacuum“ and after 15 s the
test is completed.

2.2.9 Temp Measur: Measurement of the actual chamber temperature.

Similar as for the pressure measurement, i.e. in order to calculate a

calibration curve, the system needs two temperature values -
0 °C and 25.5 °C - simulated by two precision resistors (100W and
110W) respectively connected to “J2“ of Main pcb.
The temperature sensor is a PT100 type. (PT100 = 100W at 0 °C)

Test / Adjustment procedure:

1) RUN-key enters the test routine and displays the actual chamber
temperature. (Compare with a reference thermometer)

2) ENTER-key prompts you to confirm the adjustment process.

Adjust T-sensor ? Yes ® <Enter>

3) The display prompts you to connect the resistor 100W to

connector J2 on Main pcb (Disconnect the PT100 sensor)

ENTER-key saves the measuring value for 100W in the

E2-PROM.

4) The display prompts you to connect the resistor 110W to

connector J2 on Main pcb.

ENTER-key saves the measuring value for 110W in the

E2-PROM and terminates the test.

Additional Hint: Up to step (3) the adjustment routine can be

quit without any loss of data or changes in the E2-PROM
(Parameter memory) by pressing the RESET-key. But, if there is
decided to perform a new alignment of the temperature
measuring range, it is imperative that the resistors are connected
in the order as described above. In case this requirement is not
fulfilled and the ENTER-key is activated at step (3), wrong offset
values are stored in the E2-PROM (U 28) and the measuring
response would be out of range.

2.2.10 Panel test: Test of keypad and LCD functions.

1) Test of LCD display

All pixels are lighting on and off with a variable contrast. “On
Line“ LED is blinking. Press END-key to jump to the next test.

2) Test of all keys

Press each key one by one, except “RESET“, to change its state
1 à 0 confirming proper response.

RESET-key terminates this test routine.

2.2.11 Cock Adj.: Test and adjustment of the 8-port valve positioning.

Note: For this test it is necessary to remove the side panels of the
instrument, in order to reach comfortably the 8-port connections.

RUN-key starts the test and display shows “Cock position 0 à

Refpos“ (corresponds to the reference position of the 8-port valve)

ENTER-key switches to position “3“ which permits to check the

proper valve positioning. Unscrew the tube connection on position 3
and check visually whether both holes are facing each other, i.e. in
one line. If yes, no adjustment is required.
In any other case, move the optical fork-type ref. switch left/right,
just as much as the visual shift needs, tight again the fixing screws
and resume the test by pressing twice ENTER-key. If the
positioning is now correct, re-connect position 3 or proceed by trial
and error; tight gently the Teflon screws.

END-key terminates the test.

2.2.12 Cock posit.: Individual positioning test of 8-port valve.

RUN-key starts the test and display shows "Cock Position 0 à

Refpos" (corresponds to the reference position of the 8-port valve)
ENTER-key moves the 8-port valve from position “0“ to “8“ and
back.
END-key terminates the test.

Service Manual AMD2 8

Service Manual AMD 2
2.2.13 Syringe Adj: Test and adjustment of syringe drive reference positioning.

Note: The dosing syringe drive range is factory adjusted and does
normally not need to be re-adjusted.

RUN-key starts the test and display shows “Syringe drive LS1-S à
Refpos“ (corresponds to the reference position of the dosing
syringe)
In this situation the syringe piston must be positioned about 1 mm
from the bottom - this situation can only be accurately seen from
the right side of the instrument, i.e. when the side panel is removed.
In any other case the lower sens screw would have to be re-
adjusted, i.e. lengthen or shorten, in order to move the piston to the
recommended reference position.

Proceed by trial and error - after each change of the ref-screw,

press twice ENTER-key.

ENTER first moves the drive away to an offset of 4 mm.

A second ENTER activates an initialization and moves the piston
back to reference.

END-key terminates the test.

2.2.14 Syringe driv.: Test of syringe drive way.

Note: The upper optical fork-type switch of the dosage unit does
not act as limiting switch but as security switch, i.e. is normally
never activated, except in case of a motor control problem, in order
to stop the drive before the mechanical end.

ENTER-key moves the piston to max. and min. position.

END-key terminates the test.

2.2.15 Vacuum test: Test of ultimate pressure and tightness of the system.

Ø Before starting the test, make sure the chamber lid is on and
tighten.

RUN-key starts the test; the display shows for an instant the actual
pressure and temperature in the chamber and the system starts the
vacuum pump. After about 20s the ultimate pressure is reached
and displayed (usually ≤ 1 mb).
Now, press first ENTER-key, then END-key; the firmware performs
a tightness test of the system and after 30s displays the result in
mbar/min (millibar/minute) which represents the leak, i.e. the
pressure increase/minute in the AMD2 chamber and related
connections.

Service Manual AMD2.DOC - André Gschwind / 06-2001 / 09-2003 9

Service Manual AMD 2
The system is approved if the pressure increase is ≤ 5 mbar/min -
the default limit in the development parameters of the AMD2 control
software is ≤ 10 mbar/min.

END-key terminates the test; the display shows “Canceling

Vacuum“ and after 15s the test is completed.

Note: If END-key is pressed after the first vacuum display, the

system displays: “Canceling Vacuum“ followed by “Error 30 - user
aborted“ - a second END quits the routine.

2.2.16 Precondition:Simulation of drying and preconditioning.

The system performs a 2 minutes vacuum drying followed by a

preconditioning phase.

2.2.17 Run no CCD: Run of a gradient without automatic migration monitoring.

With this test the service engineer can manually monitor a gradient,
sent to the AMD2 by the PC.
In case of a proven solvent migration problem in the chamber, the
service engineer can disconnect and remove the CCD migration-
monitoring device and start the test. The solvent migration can then
be observed through the vertical window of the chamber.

END-key stops individual migration steps, at any migration height,

and switches to the next step.

4.0 Preventive maintenance and Qualification

4.1 General information
After expiration of the one-year warranty we recommend the performance of a preventive
maintenance at least once a year in order to maintain the AMD 2 in its original
performance state. The schedule and number of annual maintenance checks, depending
on the intensive use of the instrument, should be settled via a service contract between
the user and the service organization.

Hint: For your convenience while carrying out the preventive maintenance task, use the
maintenance checklist (see page 17).

4.2 Tasks carried out during the preventive maintenance

1) Determination of the instrument's status:

2) Cleaning the instrument:
3) Lubrication of dosage unit:
4) Test of electronics and control functions via keypad:
5) Test of CCD monitoring accuracy (Line Test):
6) Test of reduced input pressure (+ 0.1 bar at regulator P1)
7) Test of chamber temperature monitoring (Temp. Measur.):
8) Test of ultimate pressure and tightness of the system (Vacuum test):
9) Maintenance of vacuum pump:

Note: When prior to preventive maintenance the instrument will be checked by the
winCATS "AMD2 Qualification" routine for the test of the instrument's status (strongly
recommended), it is not necessary to perform Point (1), (5), (6), (7) and (8). Indeed,
these tests are included in the "Qualification" program, are running automatically, and
thus, do not need to be performed individually.

Double click the AMD2 icon to open the "manual control" window.
Next, click the icon on the toolbar, opening the qualification dialog box (Fig. 1, page
13) and follow the instructions on the screen.

4.2.1 Determination of the instrument's status:

When starting the preventive maintenance, the first step is to check the instrument's
basic functioning, i.e. initialization, mechanical movements of dosing unit / positioning of
8-port valve, ref-switches, backlash, etc (performed by the "Endless test")

Note: These tests can be fully automatically performed by running the "AMD 2
Qualification" routine included in winCATS

Hint: It is recommended to perform / select one by one the proposed qualification tests,
following the order of the preventive maintenance instruction and to check stepwise the
passed tests on the provided maintenance checklist (see page 17).

Service Manual AMD 2

Þ Activate and start one by one the tests

according to instruction.

Þ Activate and start the "print qualification

report" only at the end of the preventive
maintenance check.

Fig. 1 winCATS qualification selection window

Required tools for the performance of automatic / manual (firmware) preventive

maintenance:

· AMD2/ADC test plate: # 700.1010

· Digital Vacuum meter kit (range 1100 - 1 mb): # 705.0300 (Fittings # 705.0209)
· Thermometer
· Manometers (range 0 - 0.6 bar) # 705.0207 - (range 0 - 6 bar) # 705.0203

√ Test positioning quality of all drives (click OK when ready to start the test)

Ø Status of result: Any drive test not past, i.e. positioning reproducibility, backlash etc,
may be caused by mechanical hampering and due to, e.g. dirty or dry sliding rods. In
this case proceed to next step - cleaning and lubrication.

Ø In case of no improvement after cleaning and lubrication, each drive can individually
and detailed be tested through the 'service dialog' (section 2.2.14 for syringe and
2.2.12 for 8-port valve) (see chapter 2.0, Test list, page 2 of this manual)

Note: At the end of the actual test, winCATS saves the test results in a report file named
by the current date, e.g. "20030925.QAmd2". The qualification report files themselves
are automatically saved in a directory generated by winCATS and named by the AMD 2
serial number. All test files can later be called up and displayed for comparison purpose

4.2.2 Cleaning the instrument:

Switch off the instrument and remove the housing lid. By means of a vacuum cleaner,
remove all dust and silica powder around the dosing unit and into the developing
chamber as well as the preconditioning and waste bottle compartment. However, in the
frame of a maintenance overhaul and before beginning alignments, it is of good practice
form to perform a complete instrument clean.
Next, with a cloth put over the forefinger and wetted slightly by alcohol, clean the sliding
rods of syringe drive, remove any lubricant or dust left.

Service Manual AMD2.DOC - André Gschwind / 06-2001 / 09-2003 13

Service Manual AMD 2

Note: Using a solvent for cleaning the sliding rods is only necessary if there is a coat of
dirt or smirch over it; mostly a normal wiping off by a cloth is sufficient.

4.2.3 Lubrication of dosage unit:

After drying of the cleaning alcohol it is recommended to lubricate the sliding rods of the
syringe drive as well as all moving parts by means of a silicone based lubricant; CAMAG
recommends the use of CARFA Magic spray (CAMAG # 952.0001)

Note: Some silicone lubricants dry out after a couple of weeks / months and may result
in unsustained lubrication.

Hint: In order to avoid dirtying the instrument while spraying lubricant, spray some
lubricant on the forefinger tip and spread it on the rods, proceed in 2 - 3 steps to distribute
the lubricant evenly over the whole length.

Important: The special grease coated over the micro spindle of syringe drive must only
be washed away and replaced if really dried out. Normally this type grease remains
smooth over years. In any case, use special spindle grease, not silicone based lubricant.

4.2.4 Test of electronics and control functions via keypad:

· Measure the different supply voltages for the electronic functions.

The following 3 voltages are measured and must be stable: +5V; +24V; +12V; it can
be measured on the "Periphery" PCB at TP (see diagram # 135.0081 / 800.0081 in
chapter 6)

· Test of control functions of the keypad, The keys response can be tested through the
'Panel test' (see section 2.2.10, page 8)

4.2.5 Test of CCD monitoring accuracy (Line Test):

Note: In case the CCD monitoring test is performed by the Firmware, i.e. no winCATS
available; start the "Line test" according to section 2.2.6, page 5.

√ Test measurements

Ø Start the test by clicking OK and follow the instructions on the screen.

1) Temperature deviation: measure of the actual chamber temperature - use a

reference thermometer and compare the displayed value with the value on the
screen. The deviation with the reference thermometer must not exceed 3 °C (This
test is operator approved) (see also section 2.2.9, page 7)

2) Pressure deviation: measure of the actual atmospheric pressure - use a reference

vacuum meter and compare the displayed value with the value on the screen. The
deviation with the reference vacuum meter must not exceed 25 mbar. (This test is
operator approved) (see also section 2.2.8, page 5)
Service Manual AMD2.DOC - André Gschwind / 06-2001 / 09-2003 14
Service Manual AMD 2
3) Migration distance: measure of the CCD monitoring accuracy - Insert the special
test plate with line pattern (AMD2/ADC test plate # 700.1010) into the plate holder
by means of the plate positioning device and place it into the chamber, line pattern
toward optical device. The reference lines measured on the test plate are the 30 /
50 / 70 mm The deviation displayed on the screen must not exceed 500 цm (0.5
mm) (see also section 2.2.6, page 5)

4.2.6 Test of reduced input pressure (+ 0.1 bar at regulator P1 / P2)

Note: In case the reduced input-pressure test is performed manually, i.e. no winCATS
available - proceed as follows:

· Connect the manometer (# 705.0207) to the test quick-release-coupling on pneumatic

regulator P1 (P2 starting S/N 120401) located on the upper right-hand side of back
wall of the AMD2 (seen from the front part of AMD2).
· Enter the service dialog, select 'Output test' and switch ON 'main valve' (V0) and
PC1 valve (V1).
· Next, check / adjust the regulator to + 0.1 bar (100 mb) - tolerance: + 50% / -10%.
Hint: Before adjustment, loosen / tighten slightly the blue marked lid of the precon-bottle
in order to release the accumulated pressure, permitting so a more precise adjustment.

4.2.7 Test of chamber temperature monitoring (Temp. Measur.):

Note: In case the test of chamber temperature monitoring is performed by the Firmware,
i.e. no winCATS available - start the test according to section 2.2.9, page 7 (do not
exceed step (1) for the comparison test) - better, for a single comparison test, press the
up / down arrow-key and read the value on display.

4.2.8 Test of ultimate pressure and tightness of the system (Vacuum test):
Note: In case the test of ultimate pressure and tightness of the system is performed by
the Firmware, i.e. no winCATS available; start the test according to section 2.2.15, page
9. (Use the CAMAG reference vacuum meter # 705.0300 with fittings # 705.0209 and
insert it between AMD2 and pump)

√ Test pneumatic parts (check Qualification flow for details)

Note: Make sure the AMD 2 is connected to vacuum and compressed N2 / air (4-5 bars)

Ø Start the test by clicking OK and follow the instructions on the screen.

In this routine the program performs several tests in the pneumatics circuitry, i.e.
determining the proper work / response of the input pressure monitor with switch
threshold at ~ 3.5 bar, the input pressure regulator, factory adjusted to +100 mbar (0.1
bar), as well as the pressure influence / response of the different switched valves. (see
possible errors diagnostic list fig. 2, page 16). For an explanation of the test procedure,
check the AMD2 Flow at qualification of pneumatic tests document.
Note: During qualification test "Pneumatic parts", in order to improve response of
valve test (above all for valve 7), it isrecommended to loosen slightly 1 of the 5 solvent bottles
(tight it again after completion).

√ Vacuum test

Automatic test of ultimate pressure and tightness of the system performed by winCATS
Qualification.

Ø Connect your reference vacuum meter with fittings in parallel to the pump.

Note: For similar test, see also section 4.2.8 or 2.2.15, page 9).

Ø Start the test by clicking OK and follow the instructions on the screen.

4.2.9 Maintenance of vacuum pump:

Ø Check the oil level (in general refer to operating manual of the pump manufacturer)
Ø Visual check of oil color: Þ it must be bright yellow (oil Ultragrade 19, 1 liter
# 952.2100 for the Edwards pump model RV3)

4.3 AMD 2 used for quantitative analyses under GLP:

For GLP requirements an OQ (Operation Qualification) SOP for the certification (or re-
certification after a maintenance or repair) of the AMD 2 is available at CAMAG. If
required, order the document set under "OQ AMD 2 / winCATS" # 993.0221.

Note: Only CAMAG trained and certified "Product Specialists" are qualified to perform
Installation and Operation Qualifications.
