Warm Greetings!
I am Dr. Sami Jan, a postgraduate resident from the Department of Community Medicine GMC Srinagar. We are
conducting a study to understand the coverage and quality of home-based postnatal care services in block Hazratbal,
Srinagar.
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to assess the coverage and quality of home-based postnatal care services in Block
Hazratbal, Srinagar. The results of this study will have important implications for policy and practice in the Block. The
study can identify areas for improvement in the delivery of home-based postnatal services.
Procedure
If you agree to participate in this study, written informed consent will be taken from the participant for participation.
Confidentiality and anonymity of identity will be assured. A suitable date and time will be decided as per the
convenience and availability of participant and questions will be asked regarding demographic details, services
delivered by ASHA/ANM, and questions about the coverage of postnatal care, and quality of services provided. You
will be given the liberty to speak in English/Urdu/Kashmiri.
Risk of participation
During the interview for data collection, you may have emotional discomfort while recollecting certain peculiar
circumstances, experiences and events. If needed, you can contact the helpline where trained counsellors will answer
your questions and suggest help.
Benefits
Your participation will help us to identify areas for improvement in the delivery of home-based postnatal services,
such as the need for better training and support for health workers. More than the individual benefit, by taking part
in the study, you will be doing a contribution to the society and humanity.
Participants rights
Taking part in this study is voluntary. You can choose not to take part. You can choose not to answer a specific
question. You can also stop answering these questions at any time without having to provide a reason.
Privacy and confidentiality
Appropriate care will be taken to safeguard your identity and personal information. Your data will be collected using a
semi-structured interview schedule by a trained interviewer Data related to you will be used only for scientific
purposes and your records will be kept safely to maintain confidentiality
Compensation
No compensation in cash or kind will be paid to you for taking part in this survey.
