UNI-NI-141
NICKEL & NICKEL ALLOYS
WELDING ELECTRODES
UNI-Ni-141 is used for welding of cast and wrought forms
of commercially pure nickel. These electrodes can also be used
for surfacing, as well as dissimilar welding, between nickel and
steel or stainless steel.
TECHNICAL DATA
UNI-NI-182
NICKEL & NICKEL ALLOYS
WELDING ELECTRODES
UNI-Ni-182 electrodes are used for welding of nickel -
chromium-iron alloys to themselves and for dissimilar welding
between nickel-chromium-iron alloys and steels for stainless
steel. The applications include surfacing as well as clad-side
welding. High maganese of this weld deposit reduces the
possibility of micro fissures. High manganese reduces creep
strength, that limits its usage up to 900°F (482°C).
TECHNICAL DATA
UNI-NI-187
NICKEL & NICKEL ALLOYS
WELDING ELECTRODES
UNI-Ni-187 is a copper-nickel, all-position electrode for
shielded metal arc welding or wrought or cast alloys of similar
composition as well as 80 Cu + 20 Ni and 90 Cu + 10 Ni alloys.
It is also used for the clad side applications because of its good
resistance to the corrosive effects of seawater.

UNI-55
NICKEL-IRON ELECTRODE
FOR WELDING CAST IRON
• A nickel-iron type electrode for welding cast iron in all positions.
• UNI-55 produces high strength, crack resistant and porosity
free welds on all types of cast iron. • Arc is smooth and stable
even when using AC. • Weld puddle fluidity is easily controlled
and wetting action, even on dirty castings, is exceptional. •
Deposits are machinable.
UNI-55 can be used on grey malleable and ductile castings.
Achieves successful repairs on engine blocks, manifolds, gear
housings, transmission cases and gear teeth. Ideal for producing
high strength welds when repairing thick castings, joining cast
iron to steel and repairing high strength castings.
TECHNICAL DATA
PROCEDURE
Clean and prepare weld zone. "VEE" out cracks using
UNI-2400. Use skip weld technique on complicated castings.
To minimize heat input, limit bead length to 1-11/2". Maximum
inter-pass temperature should be maintained at 200°F. Chip
slag between passes and peen lightly using ball end of a ball
peen hammer.

FOR WELDING CAST IRON
• A high nickel content electrode with an extruded coating for
cold welding cast iron. • Welds are easily produced in all
positions and the deposits are highly machinable.
UNI-99 is used to join ordinary gray irons to themselves
or to other ferrous and nonferrous materials. Also for repair of
castings when matching is to be done after welding. Welds can
be satisfactorily produced on light and medium-size castings
if there are not severe stresses or high phosphorus content
encountered in the parent material.
