 The candidates are instructed to visit the websites frequently for


updates from the date of online application till the end of admission
process without fail. Selection committee will not be responsible for
consequences resulting due to non-diligent follow-up of notices,
notification and publications appearing on the websites regarding
admission to all Paramedical Degree Courses 2023-2024 session.

 The candidates who are unable to access the online application can
appear in person with parent or guardian, along with all the original
certificates at any one of the facilitation centre available in the nearest
Government Medical Colleges / Tamil Nadu Government Dental College
and T.F.C.( Tamil Nadu Facilitation Centre) in each District ( where
there are no Medical colleges yet) and utilize the facilities to access and
apply online.

 Candidates are advised to take printout of prospectus and read the
prospectus carefully with their parents or Guardians before filling the
online application and ensure that no mandatory column is left blank.
In the event of Non-Acceptance of the online application form, no
correspondence/request for re-consideration will be entertained.

I. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. a. Candidates seeking admission to all Paramedical Degree courses


should upload their online filled in application form along with
necessary enclosures before 5.00 pm on 28-06-2023

b. Request for extension of time for applying and uploading the documents
after the specified date and time will not be considered.

d. Candidates seeking admission under Special Category for the


Paramedical Degree Courses (Children of Ex-Servicemen and Person with
Benchmark Disability) shall upload the prescribed format (Annexure-I &
Annexure-II (A)& (B).

e. If the required certificate for special category have not been uploaded,
then the application of such candidates should be considered under
General Category only, if he/she fulfils the norms for the General
Category.

II. ELIGIBILITY:-
2. The candidate should be a citizen of India.

3. NATIVITY:-
a) Candidates should be Native of Tamil Nadu

b) The candidates, who claim their Nativity as Tamil Nadu should submit
their nativity certificate issued by the competent Revenue authority of
Government of Tamil Nadu.

c) Candidates belonging to other States cannot claim nativity of Tamil
Nadu

d) Permanent Residence Certificate in lieu of Nativity Certificate will not
be accepted.

e) Nativity Certificate submitted with application alone will be accepted
and sending the Nativity Certificate separately will not be entertained.

f) Candidates who are Native of Tamil Nadu and who have studied 6TH
standard to 12TH standard in schools of Tamil Nadu should also
produce Nativity Certificate and Community Certificate issued by the
competent authority. The Community Certificate of either one of the
parent obtained from the competent Revenue Authority in Tamil Nadu
should be enclosed to claim Communal Reservation.

If candidates do not submit the above mentioned certificates and even
if he/she had studied Standard 6th to 12th std completely in Tamil
Nadu, the candidate will be considered under Open Category only.

g) Candidates who are Native of Tamil Nadu, but studied from 6 th


Standard to 12th standard either partly or completely in one or more
states should upload their Nativity Certificate issued by the
competent revenue authority of Tamil Nadu. If the candidate claims
communal reservation, they should upload candidate’s community
certificate issued by the competent revenue authority of Tamil Nadu
and should upload the community certificate of either one of the
parent or guardian obtained from the competent Revenue Authority of
Tamil Nadu for claim Communal Reservation. If the candidates do not
submit the above mentioned certificate, then the candidate’s
application will be summarily rejected.

h) Other State candidates who are not native of Tamil Nadu but Studied
6th standard to 12th standard in Tamil Nadu will be considered under
Open Category (OC) candidate and have to produce their Bonafide
Certificate from school in which he/she studied from std 6th to 12thstd

5. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: -
Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying
Examination of the Higher Secondary Course conducted by the Tamil Nadu
State Board or any other Equivalent Board in the following group of subjects
with minimum eligible marks.

(i) Candidates who have passed any other equivalent examinations other
than Tamil Nadu State Board/CBSE with same group of subjects
mentioned above should produce the Eligibility Certificate from the
Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Guindy, Chennai-32. before
joining the course.

(ii) In the case of candidates who have furnished the mark sheets of the
qualifying examination, only in GRADES, the minimum marks of the
grades alone will be taken into consideration while determining the
marks in the select Science subjects of Physics, Chemistry and
Biology or Botany and Zoology.

(iii) Candidates who have mark sheets with GRADES should obtain a
certified statement of marks from the examination authority and
upload the statement of marks for indicating the actual marks
secured.

(iv) Normalization method will be adopted for calculating the minimum
eligibility mark for the candidates who have passed any other
equivalent examination.

7. Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Course in vocational
stream are not eligible to apply to Paramedical Degree Courses.

8. Normalization of Marks:-
As per the Tamil Nadu Act No 3 of 2007, dt 05.03.2007 and G.O(Ms)
No.77 HE(J2) Dept.dt:05.04.2007, the marks obtained by the students
in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by
various Boards or Authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by
the students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination
conducted by the State Board (Government of Tamil Nadu) by adopting
the method of normalization.

Explanation:-
Under the method of normalization, the highest mark obtained by the
students of various Boards in each subject will be equated to the highest
mark obtained by the students of State Board in that subject and the
relative marks obtained by other students in that subject will be
determined accordingly.

Illustration:-
i. If the highest marks secured by the student of State Board in Physics is
100 and the highest mark secured by a student of any other Board in
the same subject is 90, both the highest marks will be considered to be

III. PROCEDURE FOR FILLING AND SUBMISSION OF ONLINE


APPLICATION:-

9. a) (i)The candidate should login into any one of the following official

(iii) Candidates should fill all the mandatory fields in online application form and
upload the required certificates.

ii. Uploading / Producing a false community, Nativity or any other certificate if
detected later at any point of time during the course of study will result in
cancellation of their allotment and expulsion of the candidate from the course
and also criminal proceedings will be initiated against the candidate as well as
the parents as per provision of law.

iii. As number of bogus community certificates are being encountered off late and
in order to curb such practices, the authentication of the above certificate has
to be verified and confirmed by the concerned authority, before the individual
completes 1st year. The concerned candidate and parents should take
necessary steps to that effect. Unless proof of authenticity of community
certificate is received, the candidate will not be allowed to continue the 2nd
year.

IV. MERIT LIST.

11. a) CALCULATION OF MARKS :-


(i) Merit List will be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained by the
eligible candidates in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying
examinations reduced to the base of 200 marks. The marks
obtained through different Boards will be taken into account after
normalization

Physics, Chemistry and Biology will be taken into account for
arriving the General merit list and for those candidates who have
taken Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics along with other subjects
(other than Biology, Botany and Zoology) the marks obtained in
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be taken into account for
arriving the merit list for B. Pharmacy / B.ASLP/B.Optom courses
only.

ii) Percentage in Chemistry in Higher Secondary Course
examination.
iii) Percentage in Physics in Higher Secondary Course examination.
iv) Percentage in Fourth Optional subject in Higher Secondary
Course Examination.
v) Date of Birth – Weightage given to seniority in age.
vi) Computerised Random number assigned. Higher value of
random number will be taken into consideration.

14. a. Online Counseling Schedule will be available only on the website.
Candidates should lock their choices of Colleges and Courses as per
the schedule.

Principal of respective Colleges. No individual intimation will be sent to
the candidates.

20. The movement of candidate from one category to another category (from
self-financing to Government Colleges) and from one Government

Dean/The Principal of respective Colleges.

30. The selection and admission of candidates of other Universities /


Boards should submit the Eligibility Certificate obtained from the
Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Guindy, Chennai. If do not
submit the Eligibility Certificate, the recognition is not accorded for
the admission of the candidate on any ground, the provisional
admission will not entitle the candidate for the continuance of the

35. All selection and admission for Para Medical Courses are only
provisional. The Selection and admission is liable to be cancelled at
any time as and when the eligibility conditions are found to be
defective or incorrect or there has been any suppression or
misrepresentation of facts. The Selection Committee reserves the
right to cancel the allotment to Para Medical courses and Colleges.

The students who join Paramedical Degree courses should not indulge or
participate in any kind of ragging throughout their study period. If they are
found to have indulged in ragging at any time, the candidate will be removed
