COMPPEC - EAP - FAQs

Objectives

Strengthen the academia-industry linkage by providing a platform for young and innovative minds to showcase
their talent and share ideas through Early-Age Programming Competition, promoting creativity, innovation, and
education among Pakistani youth.

COMPPEC is scheduled to take place from 5th to 7th May 2023. 5th May being the arrival date for out-of-station
teams. The event formally starts on 6th May.

Date / Time / Venue:

Knockout Round 6th May (1000 – 1300 hrs.) or (1400 – 1700 hrs.) *
Final Round 7th May (1000 – 1300 hrs.) *

Eligibility Criteria & Participation Details:

• Teams must reach at least half an hour before the start of their round.
• EAP participants will be divided into multiple groups where each group will face a knockout round.
• Teams clearing the first round will compete in the final round for the top 3 prizes.
• In a single round, all teams will be required to attempt an unseen task(s) within an allocated time frame.
• The decision of the judges will be final.

Team Details:

• A team may consist of a minimum of 1 and maximum 2 members.

• Average age of the team should be less than 17 years*
• All members must fulfill the eligibility criteria.
• All members must be available during the live programming event.

Competition Rules and Guidelines

• Out-station teams are required to arrive 1 day prior to the event i.e., on 5th May.
• Out-station teams will be required to share details regarding time of arrival.
• Any requirement, such as extra cables, USB hub, HDMI converters, or network space etc. must be
specified at the time of registration. The request for additional material on the day of the competition
may or may not be entertained.
• In case of valid reason COMPPEC team can provide power cables, keyboard/mouse, power extension
and monitors subject to availability.

• Logic and Aesthetics
• In case of a Tie Average Age of Group will decide winner

Registration:
• Registration closes on: 28th April 2023.
• Register at: comppec.com
• Fill out and submit the registration form online.
• The payment procedure will be emailed and will be visible on the submissions portal.
• Registration fee for EAP is Rs. 1000 per person (fee is inclusive of early-bird discount and lunch on both
days of the competition).
• The registration fee is non-refundable.

Prize Money:

COMPPEC Prizes for each category (and sub-category in Project Competition) will be distributed as follows:

1st Prize PKR 40,000

2nd Prize PKR 20,000
3rd Prize PKR 10,000

Other than these on-spot prizes may also be announced based on participation.
