Objectives of the
Project
Through this project, we aim to investigate what mental health issues plague teenagers in my
school/neighborhood. This is followed by recognizing the symptoms and the scope of therapy.
This project has enabled us, to obtain insight into how we can recognize symptoms of various mental
health issues.
A survey was conducted via Google forms We also learnt about the ways we can help a person
suffering from mental health issues and the need for therapy.
To elucidate our topic better, we conducted a Google form survey, asking teenagers about the ill
symptoms they face. We also asked them about their ways to deal with these issues.

This project helped us to learn the method of translating one’s view into an analysis. Listening to
audio-video clippings related to the project helped us enhance our language proficiency to some
extent. In addition, we got to practice conversing fluently in English while explaining our content to the
other person.

Peer Pressure and
Bullying
Peer pressure is a powerful force that affects people of all ages and backgrounds. It is the
influence that friends, family, and people in our social circles have on us, leading us to make
certain decisions and behave in certain ways. It can be both positive and negative, depending on
the situation.
One of the most common forms of peer pressure is about appearances and unethical behaviour
like smoking and drinking. A failed attempt to fit in can lead to serious mental health. Feeling
socially unaccepted can even lead to suicidal tendencies.
Bullying is often associated with social anxiety, inability to trust people, and depression, which can
lead to the deterioration of the social sphere and physical health of the individual.

Disorders During Adolescence

conditions that adversely affect an individual’s thoughts, feelings,
perceptions, and behaviour. They may impact an individual’s

counseling, and therapy.

It is essential for people to be aware about the common
symptoms.

Common Mental Health Disorders
During Adolescence
Behavioral Changes:
Healthy people differ significantly in their overall personality, mood, and behavior. Everyone
also varies from day to day, depending on the circumstances. However, if someone experiences
a sudden, major change in personality and/or behavior that is not related to an obvious event
(like taking a drug or losing a loved one), it often indicates a problem. There are three main
types of sudden changes in personality and behavior:
Confusion or delirium
Delusions
Disorganized speech or behavior
These categories are not disorders. They are just one way doctors organize different types of
abnormal thought, speech, and behavior. These changes in personality and behavior can be
caused by physical or mental health problems.

specific period of time. Each binge-eating episode usually continues until the person
