FROM CYPRUS THEATRE ORGANISATION TO INTERCULT

On Monday, I got my first taste of beautiful

Stockholm, walking to Intercult's main offices,
where Iwona and Josefin warmly welcomed me.

They prepared a well-rounded, informative and

visual presentation of the organisation while
diving deep into explaining the essence of their
projects. AN
Some of the main aspects of Intercult that
INDEPENDENT
fascinated me the most were the organisation's CULTURAL
initiative to be involved in the European cultural PRODUCTION
bridging between artists and their interest in
developing site-specific projects conveying
AND
strong messages through art. EDUCATION
UNIT
 On the same day, the wonderful Vanessa, a communicator of Smart
Coop, introduced me to their company hosted at the Intercult
premises.

Smart Coop is a cooperative production house that works with

media, social sustainability, environmental issues, teaching,
architecture and urban development within tech, digital events,
interaction design and games.

The idea of having a support system, especially behind freelance

artists, is very important and should be introduced and integrated
into more local performing art industries.

experiences in Stockholm.

I will never forget my face when stepping out of the central station
and coming across Stockholm's Cultural House - I was so amazed by
its massive size, and secondly, I was attracted to its contemporary,

At the Cultural House, we met with Arash

Anbari, a VR developer artist who will
participate in this year's Digital Innovations
Festival on the 24th of March with his three
installations.

Arash discussed the endless possibilities of

integrating performing arts with virtual and
augmented realities into conventional and
non-conventional spaces.
 On Friday, I got the opportunity to attend the last day of industry talks at the
Tempo Documentary Festival at Teatre Tre.

The first discussion was about "Making Film in the Countries Where the
Future of Europe is Being Determined" with Mario Adamson, Mariia
Ponomarova and Anastasia Kirillova, representing the organisation B2B Doc
whose mission is to support filmmakers in all production phases, on a
European level.

The second discussion was about "What does a distributor cost you, and it is
worth it?" with Inka Achté, Head of Acquisitions of Raina Film, who talked
about her company's support in filmmakers trying to circulate their
documentaries or short films to national and international festivals.

 Riksteatern has it all!

I met with project manager and producer Jasmine Alander who

discussed the processes of curation, funding and operations.

RIKSTEATERN
THE SWEDISH NATIONAL TOURING THEATRE
At the end of our insightful discussion, she gave me a detailed tour
of the building.

Riksteatern produces over 500 performances of theatre, dance and

music annually that are toured around Sweden.

They offer services from in-house costume/set design to sound/

dramaturgy and direction to light design and operation so that
artists are free to focus on what they do best.

AT AVICII ARENA

On Friday evening, I was definitely "feeling

good". I visited the Avicii Arena, the largest
spherical building on Earth, to watch Michael
Bublé's concert as part of his international
Higher tour with a live orchestra.

Simply put, it was an unforgettable

experience that I will cherish forever.

KONGRESS

On my final day of meetings, I travelled to snowy Uppsala

to meet with production assistant Markus Ahbolm at the
Uppsala Konsert & Kongress.

UKK is a vibrant cultural centre and multipurpose venue,

home to flourishing creativity, culture, research and
entrepreneurship.

There I met with Elisavet, Intercult's marketeer, who toured

me to the city and discussed with Markus and me the
venue's operations and productions insights regarding
ticketing systems, productions logistics and personal
(professional) experiences.
MUSEUMS During my free time, I
visited as many museums
as possible to learn more
about the city's history and
culture.

I found some of the most

interactive and creative
museums I have ever
been.

 OVERALL...
It was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my whole life. As an emerging
artist in Cyprus's performing arts production scene, this trip inspired me to seek
international collaborations and connected me to talented individuals and creatives.

It made me explore the endless possibilities of collaboration extending beyond

national borders and provided me with a robust starting point to go after them.

I met, discussed, questioned, observed, created, got inspired, and dared to dream.

For this, I am grateful to the Cyprus Theatre Organisation for trusting me to represent
Cyprus abroad for Theatre in Palm and also to Intercult, who meticulously tailored
and scheduled my days in Stockholm, considering my artistic interests.
