equipmentto conservebattery power.
3) Lafld as soon aspractical as the batterywill furnish electricalpower for a .
limitedtime only.

resetcircuitbreaker.

NOTE

Engineoperationis unafectedby a completeelectricalsystemfailurewith the


exceptionofthe enginestarter.

OSSOF PROPELLER CONTROL

In the evert ofloss ofoil pressureto the propellerand/orpropellergovemor, the propellerwitl automaticallygo
to tho LOW RPM Position. The throttle may be usedwith cautionasnecessaryto climb or maintainlevel flight.
A precautionary landingshouldbe madeassoonaspractical.

PRECAUTIONARY LANDING APPROACE

A precautionarylanding approachshouldbe usedwheneverpower is still availablq but a completepower failure


imminent.Maintaina higherandcloserpatternthannormalto remain,wellwithin.gliding
is considered distance
ofthe intendedtouch downpoint. Usethe no.mallandingprocedures in addition: , :,,:

1) Airspeed- 75 MPH recommended(70 MPH minimum).


2) Throttle - CLOSED when in gliding distanceto runway.

FORCED LANDING (CompletePowerFailure)'

If the enginecannotbe resta.tedin flight, trim the aircraftto the recomrneldedglide speed. Remain within
gliding distanceofthe intendedpoint oflanding. Maintaina higherandcloserpattemthan normalmaking
allowancefor wind.

Additional altitude canbe lost by slippingthe aircraft. DMng the aircraftin attemptto lose altitudev/ill only
increasethe requiredlandingdistance.

l) Airspeed- Maintain 75MPH.


2) Mxture - IDLE CUT-OFF.

STATIC SYSTEM FAILTIRE

A malfirnction in the static systemwill affect the airspeed,altimeter arld veftical speedindicator and may be a
result of an obstructedstatic opening. An alternatestatic sourcecanbe provided from within the cabinby
breakingthe glassin the airspeed,altimeteror rateof climbinstrumentface.

WARNING

With an altematestaticsourceprovidedfrom wifiin the cabiE subtractapproximarely


65 feetfrom indicatedaltitudeand l0 MpH from indicatedairspeed . .-. , .,.,,,

WINDSHIELD AND WINIDOW CARE

A certain amountof care is requiredto keep the plexiglassin the windshieldand cabinwindows cleanand
unscratched.The followingcleaningprocedureis recommended:

l. Iflarge deposittofmudaaddirt haveaccumulated


on the plexiglass,
flushwith cleanwateranddislodge
excessdirt andmud.

2. Washwith soapard water. Usea spongeor hearywaddingofsoft cloth. Do not rub asthe abrasivein the
dirt and,mudresiduewill causefine scratches
in the surface.

3. Greaseard oil spotsmaybe removedwith a softcloth soakedin kerosene.

4. After cleaning,
wax the su.facewith a thin coatofhard polishingwax or a conrnercialbrandofplexiglass
polish.Buft'with a soft cloth.

5. Ifa severescratchor maningshouldoccur,usejei{eler'srougeto rub out the scratch.Smoothit andapply

NOTE

Neverusegasoline,benezine, alcohol,acetone,carbontet.achloride,
anti-icefluid, lacquerthinneror glasscleane.to cleanthe plexiglass.
Thesematerialswill attackthe plasticandmaycauseseverecrazing.
