CHAPTER1

INTRODUCTION

Background of the study:teenage pregnancy continued to receive increased attention because of the early
age at which adolescents engage in sexual activity.teenage pregnancy usually out of wedlock has been
observed as a social problem and is becoming very rampant in our socities.like a pandemia it has become
part and parcel of some ternagers in every given society.it is responsible for the high mortality rate of
teenage girls,unwanted pregnancy and unplanned parenthood and the disruption of education careers of
ternage in our society.this makes some parents to many off their dauhgters to schools,all to avoid the risk
of the girls getting pregnant before marriege.chronologically,a teenager is one that falls within the age
bracket of 13 and 19 years.it is a period in life which is described by some as the age of experimentation
this period as a matter of fact.lays a vital foundation for every prospective youth and adult.this implies
that family socialization is of basic importance in the life of a teenage.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM


The study aims to determine the impact of the early fregnancy
SPECIFICALLY THIS STUDY WILL ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTOINS:

1.What is the impact of the early fregnancy?

2.What is the effect to the teenage in early fregnancy?

3.What can you say about early fregnancy or teenage fregnancy?

SIGNIFICANT OF THE STUDY:

THIS WILL BENEFICIAL TO THE FOLLOWING:

STUDENT MOTHERS:They could gain insight about their situation and be aware of their responsibilities as
both parent and institutions.

STUDENT'S:They will gain deeper understanding about the reality of student mothers and most
importantly for them to learn about the experiences of students mothers.

RESEARCHERS:They will broaden their knowledge about the experiences of student mothers in a college.

GUIDANCE COUNSELORS:The findings and observations would provide them relevant data that can be
utilized in their counselling interventions.

ADMINISTRATION AND FACULRY:This will provide them information to promote,enhance concerning


student mothers to help them cope in their situation.

SCOPE:The study covered three(3) student mothers of burdes college higher education
deparment,enrolled in the second semester of S.Y.2014-2015.the study was mainly focused on the student
mother challenges,coping strategies and realization.these student mothers were justclassified as students
of burdes college that have a child under seven(7) years of age.
