a. Who is the speaker here?
Ans: The speaker is the little boy who cannot see.

b. Why do you think the speaker compares purple to a thunderstorm?

Ans: I think the boy compares purple with thunderstorm because of dark clouds and
lightening that occurs during thunderstorms.

c. What do you think the speaker is comparing yellow to, when he says it is
something soft and warm?
Ans: The speaker is comparing yellow to the Sun, when he says it is something soft
and warm.

II. Answer these questions.


1. What does the colour white suggest to the boy?
Ans: The colour white suggests pleasant stillness to the boy.
2. The boy cannot see the colours, but he experiences them through his other
senses. Name these senses.
Ans: The boy cannot see the colours, but he experiences them through his
other senses by hearing, smelling and touching.
