1. Consider a 2-m-high and 0.7-m-wide bronze plate whose thickness is 2. A thick-walled copper cylinder has an inside radius of 1 cm & an out-
0.1 m. One side of the plate is maintained at a constant temperature of side radius of 2 cm. The inner and outer surface are held at 310 oC &
600 K while the other side is maintained at 400 K. The thermal 290 oC respectively. Assume k varies with temperature as K (w/mk) =

temperature range as k(T) = k0 (1+ bT) where k0 = 38 W/m·K and b =

one-dimensional heat transfer, determine the rate of heat conduction
through the plate.
