After an emergency shutdown due to UPS system failure, the screw compressor was subject
to a fatal defect that required an immediate involvement of KOBELCO, the vendor. The only
available solution by vendor was to ship the solo-run compressor for repair by a Special
Japanese Expert.
Since this would mean production interruption for an unidentified period of time EPROM
Engineers decided to undertake all the required compressor corrective actions at EPROM sole
responsibility.

process units start up as follow:
Main utility units have been started &, Currently all Utilities and Offsite units are in
service, including raw water treatment, demi water, cooling water, Fire water,
Condensate treatment, Boilers, air system, Nitrogen, fuel gas system, flare, waste water
treatment and tank farm.
Hydrogen Production Unit HPU was started up &, currently it is running with 40% of its
design capacity to provide the required make up for Naphtha and Diesel treating units.
Diesel Hydrotreating Unit was started up &, currently it receives sour gas oil from
Delayed Coker Unit, vacuum distillation unit and straight run material from EGPC and
treat it to low sulfur diesel of about 10 ppm.
Naphtha treating and CCR Reforming units have been started up &, Currently it treats
the DCU naphtha and straight run naphtha and convert it to high octane reformate.
Vacuum Distillation Unit was started up &, it is under steady operation with around 53%
of its design capacity, its light gas oil is routed to DHT for treatment, residue is routed to
DCU for cracking and combined gas oils are to fuel oil bool until starting up the
Hydrocracking unit.
Delayed Coker Unit was started up &, currently the unit provides its on spec products to
Naphtha, Diesel and LPG treating units. Coke handling system was tested and running
smoothly in a continuous basis.
SRU unit was started up successfully &, currently sulfur storage drum and tanks are
under filling up. All safety precautions have been considered. Solidification package
was started up by mid of August 2019.
