A dedicated teacher who continues to connect people and ignite the spark of learning that will carry student’s forward into
their next educational journeys. Seeks to obtain a cleared single subject teaching credential in history while growing
professionally to be able to teach students from all walks of life. Additionally hopes to continue building more cohesive
lesson plans and teaching tools with resiliency models built in to adjust to any and all challenges.

Community Tutor, University of the Pacific Center for Community Involvement, Stockton, CA Sept. 2017- My 2019
 Tutored K-8 children in the community primarily in math, science and history skills.
 Worked with the Asian Pacific Self Development and Residential Association as an English as a Second
Language tutor to K-5 children.
 Developed and established vital AVID learning skills and strategies in students such as Socratic learning and self-
reflection.

Fellowship Researcher, Digital Delta Project June 2018 – July 2018


 Interviewed Filipino Community Members to gather valuable firsthand information about the Little Manila
community in its prime from 1930-1960.
 Developed and created storylines and narratives for the virtual reality recreation.
 Reviewed oral history archives related to the Little Manila community for further information.
 Worked with fellow researchers and prominent local educators to develop teaching curriculum for the
incorporation of local Filipino history into the classroom environment.
 Presented the research and the virtual reality recreation to members of the community and University of the
Pacific Staff

 Worked as a teacher’s assistant for two high school history teachers at Edison High School as a part of the
teaching credential program at the University of the Pacific.
 Coordinated seven high school history classes comprising of 150 students, 60 of which were honors history
students.
 Directed four classes as an independent instructor for one month of their spring semester.
 Established valuable skills related to curriculum development, instruction, public speaking, class management,
AVID style teaching instruction, time management, professional education, and interdepartmental cooperation.

 Worked as a research assistant for Dr Marc Stein and assisted on research projects related to LGBT history in
California.
 Refined historical and archival research skills through extensive practice combing through online LGBT
newspaper archives and local, state, and national newspaper archives.
 Gained valuable experience in the field of professional historical research.
 Gained valuable insight into the field of professional academia.
 Further refined time management and organization skills through the research process.

 Working as a history/social studies teacher at Fusion Academy San Francisco
 Acting as a mentor within the Homework Café, Fusion’s version of a homeroom.
 Teaching an average of fifteen to eighteen one-to-one classes ranging from sixth grade to twelfth grade with
students who have specialized learning needs, were English learners, and/or were in Honors courses
 On campus liaison for my campus transition from our old educational platform to a new one, coordinated with

the local history project aspect of history major.
