Configuration / Function
Instrument Cooling System
Effectivity : ALL
A. Ventilation Control
The blower (5, Figure 1) operates when the circuit breaker INST COOL (1) is pressed
and the temperature of the instrument panel is between 37.8 and 42.2 °C. When the
temperature of the instrument panel is between 32.8 and 37.2 °C, the blower stops.
These temperatures relate to the tolerances of the operation temperature sensor (7).
B. Air Supply
The air to the blower (5) is from the NACA inlet (2) or from the cockpit inlet (3). The
source of the air supply is related to the position of the knob PUSH FOR AIR (6). The
knob (6) is connected to a flap valve (4) by a Bowden cable. When the knob (6) is
pushed, the air supply is from the NACA inlet (2). When the knob (6) is pulled, the air
supply is from the cockpit inlet (3).
C. CAD - CPDS
There is an overheat temperature sensor (8) that is connected to the Caution and
Advisory Display (CAD) of the Central Panel Display System (CPDS), 31-60-00. If
the temperature of the instrument panel is between 53.3 and 56.7 °C, the caution
CPDS OVHT comes on. The caution stays on until the temperature of the instrument
panel is between 50 and 53.4 °C. These temperatures relate to the tolerances of the
overheat temperature sensor (8).
