Part 1: Check Your Habits

Respond to the prompts below to explore your digital media habits.
Check Your Habits

What are your current digital habits? (Keep in mind: Habits can be positive, negative, or both.
Brainstorm and list as many of your habits as you can.)

Whenever I wake up I charge my phone before I eat. 

Sometimes when I eat alone, I use my phone while eating. 
Whenever I take a bath, I sometimes bring my phone to check recent messages and different tasks I need to
do. 
Most of the time , I watch some videos on Tiktok or Youtube that would make my day.
At Recess, if ever my parents are eating with me, I would not use my phone because its disrespectful but
whenever I’m alone, I can brows for good memes in Youtube. 
I would play games with my classmates like Among Us after school when we have time or when we are done
with our homeworks. 
When using the shower at night, I use my phone to listen to music. 

Next, draw (or insert) an emoji next to each habit to show how it makes you feel.

Part 3: Personal Challenge

Considering your responses in Part 1 and 2, use the steps below to create a personal challenge.
Choose

Choose one digital habit you want to change or to try to do differently. Why is it important that you
change this habit?
Something I have to change is limiting my use of it. I usually forget to read the Bible and sometimes
the time that I used for using my phone is consumed instead of doing something productive.

Challenge

Challenge yourself. Make a plan for how you would like to change your habit. Consider when you
will do something different and what you can do instead. (When we're trying to change a habit, it's
not enough just to say what we won't do. We also have to come up with something to do instead!)

Instead of consuming my time on using my phone, I wanna try using my time on doing something
ptoductive like socializing with my family, learning new stuff and other ways that won’t require a
digital smartphone.

Boost

Boost your challenge. What are some ways you can give your new habit a "boost" and make it easier
to do? If you're trying to break a bad habit, what are some things you can do so that you don't slip
back into old ways?
Having a break with using a smartphone is an efficient way to remove digital stuff and maybe socializing and
playing with friends, families or neighbors would help too but not right now. Asking for help from the Lord in
that certain addiction will really help because you’re asking for guidance and of course God will help you in
that problem.

Reflection

Time to share. Say something about what you learned for today and how this discussion helped you.
I guess spending time with my family is a healthy way of discriminating digital addiction and it will be
healthier when you disregard your smartphone in order to do productive stuff like reading the Bible, learning
or reading books and different stuff that would improve your knowledge.
