- SpongeBob SquarePants is the main character of the cartoon of the same

name. The series first aired in 1999 and is currently ongoing.

- SpongeBob is a jolly, kind soul who lives in a pineapple under the sea and loves
nothing more than having fun. He has a positive attitude which extends to all facets
of his life, including being oblivious of Squidward hating him and having an
uncharacteristically positive outlook on working.

- SpongeBob works as a fry cook at The Krusty Krab, a restaurant that serves the
signature Krabby Patty burger. SpongeBob is the store’s shining employee and
jumps at the chance to delight his customers.

- SpongeBob has become one of the biggest media franchises in the world over the
past few decades, spawning three films, countless quotes and internet memes,
including (but not limited to) “I’m ready!”, “Alright pinhead, your time is up” and
“Imagination.”

- SpongeBob’s creator, Stephen Hillenburg, unfortunately passed away from

ALS in 2018. Nickelodeon (the studio that owns the rights to the SpongeBob IP)
went against several of his wishes after his passing, such as creating the spinoff
series Kamp Koral and pushing out a third film to promote said spinoff all without his
consent. Hillenburg’s absence is often cited as the reason for the show’s decline in
quality from its golden era.
- Captain Underpants is the protagonist of the book series of the same name.
The first book was published in 1997 and the final book was published in 2015.

- Captain Underpants is the superhero alter-ego of the public school principal

Benjamin Krupp. Mr. Krupp is known for being angry, strict and anti-fun. As
Captain Underpants, though, Krupp is carefree, assertive, VERY stupid and
extremely juvenile, to the point of prancing around in only a “cape” (repurposed
curtains) and a pair of underpants.

- Mr. Krupp turned into Captain Underpants when two of his troublemaking
students, George and Harold, hypnotized him with a novelty ring. From then on,
Krupp would instantly turn into Captain Underpants when he hears the sound of
fingers snapping.

- As Captain Underpants, Krupp possesses the power of flight, super strength, and a
vague superpower described as “wedgie power” that seems to aid him in battle and
agility. The only way to turn Captain Underpants back into Krupp is to douse
him in water, in which case he instantly snaps back to reality and returns to his
grumpy self (although often very confused and angry).

- Captain Underpants received a feature film adaptation in 2017 from

Dreamworks.
- The author of Captain Underpants, Dav Pilkey, has seemingly discontinued the
series of books, although he continues to release books of his related IP like Dog
Man.

- Captain Underpants is infamously banned in a massive amount of schools

worldwide due to the belief that it encourages or fosters inappropriate and improper
behaviour.
