2. OBSERVATIONS
Our work impressed the client.
Whenever doing works always use skilled and qualified labour to maintain high level and
standards for the company.
3. PROBLEMS/CHALLENGES ENCOUNTED
Working hours(0800hrs-1600hrs) was not enough
Transport to come at work caused delays to start work
Workers was complaining about bus fare allowance which forced them to wait for the
cheap transport.
Electrician failed to complete the work as per our initial agreement because of materials
delay.
Ceiling collapsed two (2) times because of shortage of hangers inside ceiling.
Materials came in phases that caused delay on our working target.
4. RECOMMENDATIONS
It’s better to take time buying all the required materials than mobilise early without
enough material.
Client must be well notified to excuse the works in progress so that he will not interfere
with the work.
Always have our internal inspection before client inspection to avoid failure.
We should try to minimise our costs, if possible to re-use the materials on site but only if
there are good enough to satisfy client.
Qs Or project manager to implement as per instructions and where changes are done, Qs
to advice BDE.
Safety talk to be done on daily basis before works have start.
5. CONCLUSION
For future projects, we need to always mobilise all things considered to be necessary for
the project to show the level of being organised as a company as well as to maintain our
profit.
Quantity surveyor or Project manager should always pay a visit to site with his skilled
labour just after the order has been issued and before mobilisation to allow the room of
buying necessary material, and it helps proper planning of the work.
Agreed price with labour, transport and lunch should be approved by the BDE as per our
processes and procedure.
