Business Overview

Executive Summary
The product he will sell will be some kind of fragrance. This product is designed to always smell
nice. The product will consist of a small (2 ounce) spray bottle, plain water, and a fragrance oil to
mix with the water.
He personally thinks that the product will be a success because conventional perfumes are
banned in schools and other institutions, which means that many do not have perfume and for
some, wearing a perfume can become a new positive experience.
Because even if you could theoretically wear the perfume to school (since it does not have the
ingredients of normal perfumes, but is made with a fragrance oil), it is still a very useful product
in everyday life, where this fragrance ban does not play a role is. And to have said it, smelling
good is always a positive effect, which makes his product a good product.
The business is run solely by Oliver Gentzke, and he is the only one who will be responsible for
the success of this product.

Mission Statement
At Unity Perfumes, our mission is to empower individuals with the power of fragrance, offering
a diverse range of high-quality unisex perfumes that transcend traditional gender norms. We
believe that scents have the ability to evoke emotions, enhance confidence, and express
individuality without limitations.

History
My venture started in 2023 with a simple idea to sell fragrances that are gender free. Driven by
this vision, Oliver Gentzke started a company that specialized in creating gender-free fragrances.
The company's mission was to empower people to embrace their true selves and express
themselves authentically through scent. Oliver knew that building a brand and customer loyalty
would be essential to the success of the business. To achieve this, Oliver focused on creating a
unique and memorable customer experience.
Marketing Mix

S.W.O.T Analysis

Strengths

-Local Business, people like to buy from local businesses

-Big Target Market
-Branding, the business can focus on creating a brand that is inclusive and appeals to a diverse
audience.

Weaknesses

-Perception, because some customers may still view unisex fragrances as unconventional
-Competition, market for unisex fragrances has well established brands

Opportunities

-Market growth
-Online presence, the business can focus on building a strong online presence

Threats

-Competition, Established brands and new entrants may provide competition, making it more
challenging for my business to stand out
The four P’s

I will start off with physical locations, such as at the mall or at the market. If my business is
doing well, I will expand it to the online space and create a website for my brand. As a
promotion, I will create a poster containing the name of the business, a description of the
product and the price. After the design of the poster, they are then hung up around the mall.
For this purpose, places are selected where many potential customers walk past. By creating
fragrances that are not marketed as either masculine or feminine, a business can appeal to a
wider range of customers, including those who do not identify with traditional gender norms.
This approach promotes the diversity, which could be a compelling selling point for customers
who value these principles. And that’s a good reason why I think I will come over my
competition.

Product:
My product will be a 4-ounce spray bottle in which I will mix filtered water and an orange-
scented fragrance oil. The fragrance oil has an orange aroma, which is fresh and sweet.

Price:
My fragrance will cost 9.90$.
Here are my expenses for 20 pieces:
-Spray Bottles: 25$
-Fragrance Oil: 9$
-Shipping Cost: 9$

Cost per 1 piece: 2.15$

Profit: 7.75$
Promoting: Explained in text above
Place: At Regent Mall

Market Research
(A) Customer Profile

My customers are people from the ages of 18-65, that live in the greater Fredericton Area.
Since I make my perfume unisex, the gender of the customers doesn't matter. Things like the
income and education of the customers won't have much impact on the success of my business.
So, you can say that I can interest a lot of visitors to the market with my product.

(B) Study of Competition

The fragrance industry in Canada is competitive, with a lot of established brands. In this context,
my fragrance business that sells a scent fitting both men and women would face competition
from a variety of sources.

Firstly, the business would have to compete with well-known fragrance brands that fits to both
genders. These include names such as Chanel, Calvin Klein, and Gucci, which have a loyal
customer base and a strong presence in the Canadian market. These brands have a reputation
for creating fragrances that are appealing to both men and women, making it difficult for my
business to capture market share.

Here is a Table of my Competition:

Sephora
Is a well-established brand, which is selling self-care products and fragrances
Beauty Boutique
Is a shop that sells everything connected with beauty and also female fragrances
The body Shop.
Is a shop in the Fredericton Mall that sells fragrances

(C) Market Size

Approximately 65,000 people live in Fredericton in 2023 and 90% of them are between the ages
of 10-80
This would be 58,000 people and from those approximately 20% would be interested in buying
my scent.
That would be 11,600 people in Fredericton that would be interested in my product
The product will cost 19,99$ so 19,99*11,600= 230,000 of potential earnings in Fredericton area

Management and Operations

Legal Status of Business

-Apply as a Vendor for the market at frederictonfarmersmarket.ca

-Business Registration online at canada.ca—> Taxes—> Business Number Application
-If income is over 12,950$ over a year, then I would have to pay taxes—> turbotax.com

Resources

In order not to damage his perfume, I will drive my product to the market on the morning of the
market. I will store the 40 bottles in a lockable box. The box is not too big, because if the box is
too big, the bottles can slide around and possibly get damaged. Before I go to the market and
sell my perfume, I will make it clear that I will take all 40 bottles with me and also make sure
that I don’t not lose any product before the market.I will keep record of all costs, in order to
save money that I could reinvest in my business. If my business expands with the reinvested
money, I can think about hiring an accountant.

Management Structure

I choose Sole proprietorship as my type of business because I’m running the company on my
own, without any partners. I have the total control over,, Unity Perfumes” and all profits go into
my pocket. I’m also responsible for all debts and taxation the company has to pay.
