Oral apresentation

Hello, today I'm going to talk about the Language of Dance.

Dance is a form of communication that has been around for
thousands of years. Dance is an art form consisting of sequences of body
movements, either improvised or purposefully selected.
One of the defining characteristics of dance is its ability to
communicate without words. This means that dance can be understood
by people from all cultures and backgrounds, making it a truly universal
language. Whether it is ballet, hip hop, salsa, or any other style of dance,
the movement itself can be understood and appreciated by anyone who
witnesses it.
Another important aspect of the language of dance is its ability to
convey emotions. Just as words can express a range of feelings, so too can
dance movements. The way a dancer moves their body can communicate
joy, sadness, anger, fear, or any other emotion they wish to express.
One of the most essential elements of the language of dance is
rhythm. Rhythm is the heartbeat of dance, and it is what gives movement
its energy and momentum. Rhythm is created through a combination of
music, tempo, and timing, and it’s very important in conveying a message.
Another essential element of the language of dance is technique.
Technique refers to the specific movements and steps used in a particular
style of dance. Different styles of dance have different techniques, such as
the fluid, flowing movements of contemporary dance, or the sharp,
precise movements of hip hop. Technique is important to the language of
dance because it provides a structure and framework for the movement,
allowing dancers to convey their message clearly and effectively. For
example, an uncoordinated and visually confusing dance does not get the
message across as well as an organized dance.
Evolution of dance
Finally, the language of dance is constantly evolving. New styles and
techniques are being created all the time, and dancers are always finding
new ways to express themselves through movement. As such, dance is a
living, breathing language that continues to grow and evolve.
Finally, and to prove that dance is a form of language, I'm going to show
you two videos and you're going to tell me what emotion each one of
them transmit! That is, if you feel sadness or happiness, or any other
feeling!
………………… (So, what emotion does it show you? Do you think more
sadness or happiness?)
So, these are two very opposite examples. While one shows sadness,
perhaps because of the slow movements, the other conveys happiness
and even makes us feel more excited.
