Stage 4: STT – Self-Assessment questions

Write a self-assessment paragraph about his/her performance in the

individual work for the activity’s development answering these questions:
● What did I learn from this task?
In this activity, we learned about conditionals. They are used to speculate about what might
happen, what might have happened, and what we would like to happen. In English, most of the
sentences that use the conditional tense contain the word "if". Many of the conditional
constructions in English are used in sentences that include past tense verbs. This usage is called
"the unreal past" because we are using a past tense, but we are not referring to something that
happened. There are five main ways to build conditional sentences in English. In all cases, they
consist of a statement or clause with "if" and a main statement. In many negative conditional
sentences, there is an equivalent alternative construction that uses "unless" instead of "if".

● Is it important what I am learning? why?

Yes, it is extremely important since acquiring a second language opens the doors to
having economic stability and interacting with other people from other countries, also as a
future teacher I must know English to transmit this knowledge to children.

● How will this contribute to my professional and personal life?

In my professional life I have to transmit the knowledge I have acquired to my future
students, besides knowing English opens doors at work because knowing another
language leads us to know other cultures, in my personal life in the future I plan to know
other countries and it is necessary to have knowledge of a second language to be able to
interact and learn basic things.
