Simple Past Verb

Hector’s parents settled in California.

Jessica’s parents paid for her college expenses.

Past Proggresive

Was / Were+ Base Form + -ing

Hector was working long hours.

Héctor trabajaba muchas horas.

Present Perfect

Has / Have+ Past Participle

Hector’s mother and I have becomegood friends.

About intercultural marriage weren't common because people didn't want to share their
cultures. In my country I haven’t heard anyone say that intercultural marriages are prohibited.
For example: My cusin was working long hoursin other country and he married with a German
woman forty years ago. He used to live with their parent but not now.
