Checklist on ACTi Settings

Before adding new device, please check following checklist on ACTi device:
„ Make sure the ACTi device is TCP 2.0 compliant
„ Plug in the network cable in the WAN port

If you cannot make it work, please come to us with following information


„ Model Number
„ Firmware Version
„ Please refer to later section on how to check out these information correctly

Download and Install Omnicast Software

For Genetec Omnicast v4.0 installation programs, please visit Genetec Web Site or
contact Genetec Sales directly.

Following steps list how to activate license key from Omnicast v4.0

Step 1: Export Validation Key and import Activate License


0. Please install the Omnicast software.
1. Go to “Server Admin”, click on “Export” button to get the Validation Key, the file
name is ValidationKey.vk
2. Mail ValidationKey.vk to Genetec and gets Activate License
3. Import Activate License.

Setup Omnicast v4.0

Step 1: Server Admin: Setup Discovery Port to 6005


1. Open Server Admin tool
2. On the left panel, click on System node -> Archiver Node
3. Select ACTi Extension
4. On the right panel, make sure the Discovery port is set to 6005. Config Tool will
use this port to polling all ACTi device on the network, the polling period is 1
minute.
5. Note that port 6005 is ACTi’s default search port setting. If you want to change
the value, please make sure the setting in ACTi’s firmware has been updated
correctly as well.

Step 2: Login in to Config Tool


1. Open Config Tool
2. Login with Username: admin, Password: <empty>

Step 3: Config Tool: Setup ACTi device


1. Open Config Tool, the device will appear on the left panel
2. If the device does not show up, Click on Search function
3. Click on Search button
4. The device displayed in the list. Click right-mouse key on the new device
5. Select Reboot, to save setting to ACTi device and reboot the device
6. Please note that it will take about 40 seconds to run save and reboot process in
ACTi device. The device on the left panel will then become red and disabled.

Step 4: Config Tool: Preview


1. After reboot process is done, ACTi device will be displayed on the left panel again
2. Double click on the item, you will see preview video

ACTi’s Devices Setting


Before adding new device, please check following checklist on ACTi device:
„ Check the ACTi device is TCP 2.0 compliant
„ Plug in the network cable in the WAN port
„ Make sure the video streaming type is set to TCP 2.0
„ Set the video streaming method as “RTP over UDP&Multicast”

Step 0: Plug in the network cable in the WAN port


1. Use cross-over network cable Connect to WAN Port.

Step 1: Check Video Streaming is TCP 2.0


1. Open the Internet Explorer, input the IP Address, the default WAN IP
Address is 10.0.0.1. (Note: LAN IP Address is 192.168.0.100.) In the
URL line, enter http://10.0.0.1
2. Login Web Configuration. Enter password for the administrator account
(Admin) user. Default password for ACTi’s device is 123456.

3. Click on “System Info”. You can see the Firmware Version is
A1D-M2N-V2.05.12-AC, this is the TCP 2.0 Version.
4. Note that V2.05.12 indicates this is a TCP 2.0 compliant firmware, and
the version is V2.05.12

Step 2: Check the Video Streaming Method is RTP Over UDP & Multicast.
1. Click on “Video Setting“
2. Choose the Streaming Type is “Version V2.0”
3. Click on “Setting” Button to apply.

4. Select Streaming Method as “RTP Over UDP & Multicast“.
5. Change the Video RTP Over Multicast port to 4780, this is the Omnicast
software default port.
6. Click on “Apply” Button.
7. Click on “Save Reboot” Button to reboot the device.
