5 CABIN CREW
INTERVIEW
QUESTIONS WITH
A SMILE

Written by : @flywithstephy
HELLO!
I'M STEPHENIE
AND I'M
SO EXCITED
YOU ARE
HERE!
Growing up, my dream was always to become a
stewardess. Right after SPM, a family member who worked
for MAS approached my parents to ask if I wanted to join
MAS as a cabin crew. It was a firm NO from my parents as
they wanted me to graduate with a degree.

Fast forward a few years later, I had completed the my final

exams for my degree, and I attend a Singapore Airlines
interview. I had no idea what i was walking into, I honestly
didn't even prepare! I just knew I had to try and see if I had
what it took to be a Singapore Girl!

Needless to say, all went well and I had the time of my life
for 5 and a half years. I have since left and am now a mum
to a 6 year old. However the SIA remains very close to my
heart. I guess what they say is true - Once a crew, always a
crew!

Looking back, I wish I had someone that could have helped

me prepare and tell me the truth about crew life because it
was a shock at times. So, here I am, an open book to all
aspiring crew. So if you have any questions, just send them
over and I'd be happy to help.

Till then, safe flights everyone!

Question 1:
TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
Ah, the classic icebreaker! This is your chance to shine and give
a memorable introduction. Keep it concise but impactful. Here's
a witty response to get you started:

Well, in short, I'm a passionate globetrotter with a knack for

delivering smiles at 30,000 feet. Whether I'm mastering the art
of making coffee in turbulence or effortlessly charming
passengers, I'm your go-to cabin crew member who turns every
flight into a five-star experience, always striving to delivery
service that makes the passengers go WOW!

Question 2 :
HOW WOULD YOU HANDLE A DIFFICULT
PASSENGER OR A CHALLENGING
SITUATION ONBOARD?
Let's face it, we've all encountered some challenging characters
in our lives, and a cabin crew is no exception!

When faced with a difficult passenger or a challenging situation,

I believe in maintaining a calm and professional demeanor. I
would actively listen to the passenger's concerns and empathize
with their perspective. I would then use my communication and
problem-solving skills to find a suitable solution, involving other
crew members or the appropriate authorities if necessary. The
goal is always to resolve the situation peacefully and ensure the
safety and comfort of all passengers.

Question 3:
HOW DO YOU PRIORITIZE SAFETY AND
SECURITY IN YOUR ROLE AS A CABIN
CREW MEMBER
Safety and security is paramount in the airline industry, and the
interviewers want to know you've got what it takes to handle
emergencies. Show them your cool under pressure.

Safety and security are of utmost importance in the cabin crew

role. I would ensure that I am well-versed in all safety
procedures and protocols, including emergency evacuations and
first aid. I would stay vigilant during flights, constantly
observing the cabin and passengers for any potential risks or
hazards. Additionally, I would effectively communicate and
collaborate with fellow crew members to ensure a seamless
implementation of safety measures throughout the flight.

Question 4 :
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE A CABIN CREW
MEMBER
Here's your chance to showcase your passion and love for the
job.

Being a cabin crew member isn't just a job for me; it's a way of
life. I'm addicted to the thrill of exploring new horizons, meeting
fascinating people, and creating unforgettable memories. I want
to be the 'Captain Happiness' of the skies, spreading joy, and
making every passenger feel like a VIP. Plus, I was always
dreamt of wearing the uniform! Most importantly, being a cabin
crew, would enable me to support my family back home and give
them a better life.

Question 5:
HOW DO YOU HANDLE LONG WORKING
HOURS AND IRREGULAR SCHEDULES AND
NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE YOUR FAMILY
FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME?
As a cabin crew, I understand that the job entails irregular
schedules and long working hours. I am prepared for this
challenge and have developed strong time management and
self-care strategies. I prioritize maintaining a healthy lifestyle,
getting sufficient rest, and staying physically and mentally fit. I
am adaptable and can quickly adjust my routines to ensure I am
well-prepared for each flight, giving my best performance
throughout.

Thanks to technology these days, it makes it easier to stay in

touch with family members even when we are thousands of
miles away! It would not be the same as being next to them, but
it bridges the gap and makes each moment spent with them
when I next see them, all the more precious.
