on reading your question paper.
The time given at the head of the question paper is the time allowed for
writing the answers.

(a) Choose the correct answer from the options given below: [5]
i. This gas turns reddish brown when it reacts with oxygen.
ii. The gas evolved when sulphur reacts with concentrated sulphuric acid.

alkali solution.

(c) Write balanced chemical equations for the following reactions: [5]

i. The energy released when an electron is added to a neutral gaseous
isolated atom to form a negatively charged ion.
