ORDINANCE DIRECTING THE CLOSURE OF ALL PRIVATE AND PUBLIC CEMETERIES AND
MEMORIAL PARKS IN THE CITY OF TANAUAN FROM OCTOBER 29 TO NOVEMBER 4, 2020 IN
RELATION TO THE INTER-AGENCY TASK FORCE (IATF) RESOLUTION NO. 72 SERIES OF 2020
Proponent: The Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod
WHEREAS, the country is under a state of Public Health Emergency due to Covid-19
pandemic;
WHEREAS, there is a continuous increase of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country,
including the City of Tanauan;
WHEREAS, local government units (LGUs) across the country are implementing
measures to prevent the spread of the disease;
WHEREAS, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) issued Resolution No. 72, Series of
2020 providing for the closure of all private and public cemeteries and memorial parks, including
columbariums and similar businesses from October 29 to November 4, 2020 to discourage mass
gatherings, which happens during the Undas season;
WHEREAS, mass gatherings are found to be among the sources of transmission of the
Covid-19 disease;
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved to enact an Ordinance Directing the Closure of All
Private and Public Cemeteries and Memorial Parks in the City of Tanauan from October 29 to
November 4, 2020 in relation to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolution No. 72 Series
of 2020.
Section 1. Implementing Guidelines.
1. All private and public cemeteries and memorial parks in the City of Tanauan shall be
closed to visitors from October 29 to November 4, 2020.
2. The number of visitors before or beyond these dates shall be limited to a maximum of
thirty percent (30%) capacity, with adherence to the proper health protocols as
wearing of face mask, face shields, and observance of social distancing.
3. Age restrictions shall not apply to visitors of the aforementioned places.
Section 2. Penal Provision. Those who will found to be violating the provisions under
Section 1 shall be penalized, as follows:
For Visitors:
First Offense – a fine of P1,000.00
Second Offense – a fine of P3,000.00
Third Offense – a fine of P5,000.00
For Cemetery/Memorial Park Owners:
A fine of P5,000.00 and non-issuance of Mayor’s Permit for the next business/calendar
year
Section 3. Repealing Clause. All other issuances inconsistent with the provision of this
Ordinance are hereby repealed or amended accordingly.
Section 4. Separability Clause. If, for any reason, any part or provision of this Ordinance
is declared invalid or unconstitutional, any part or provision not affected thereby shall remain in
full force and effect.
Section 5. Effectivity. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approval.
