 Check validity of the cold work permit.
 Copy of the work permit must be placed into PTW folder at site
 Copyoftheriskassessmentandmethodof statementforthetaskbeingcarriedout.
 Alloftheabovedocumentsmustbeshownuponrequestbyanauthorizedperson.

Procedure for Safe Working:

1. Check that authorization has been given by the SECL and that the excavation area has been
checked for underground services or overhead utilities
2. Carry out Tool Box Meeting
3. Job preparation and planning prior to fitting off plumbing components
4. Select the right components to be fitted
5. Manual handling issues when handling and fitting-off plumbing components
6. Personnel protective equipments to be worn all the time
7. Ensure that housekeeping is done after the work
