ً ْ َ ً َ ً ْ َ ُ َ ْ َ ْ ّ َّ ُ ّٰ َ
‫ و ِرزﻗﺎ‬، ‫ا�ﻠﻬﻢ إ ِ ِﻲﻧ أﺳﺄ�ﻚ ِﻋﻠﻤﺎ ﻧﺎﻓِﻌﺎ‬
ً َّ َ َ ُ ً َ َ َ ً ّ َ
‫ و�ﻤﻼ ﻣﺘﻘﺒﻼ‬، ‫ﻃﻴِﺒﺎ‬

Allāhumma innī as’aluka ʿilma-n-nāfiʿā, wa

rizqan ṭayyibā, wa ʿamalam-mutaqabbalā.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge,

wholesome sustenance, and deeds which are
accepted. (Ibn Mājah)

‫ و� ِﺮﺴ ِﻲﻟ أ� ِﺮي‬، ‫ر ِب اﺮﺷح ِﻲﻟ ﺻﺪ ِري‬

Rabbi-sh-shraḥ lī ṣadrī. Wa yassir lī amrī.

My Lord, put my heart at peace for me,

and make my task easy for me.
(20:25-26)

Your Prayers Answered
َّ
َ‫ﺖ ﻣ َﻦ اﻟﻈﺎ�ِﻤ ْﻦﻴ‬ ُ ّ َ ْ َ
ُ ْ ْ َ َ ْ ُ َ ٓ َّ َ ٰ ٓ َ
ِ ِ ‫ﻻ إِﻪﻟ إِﻻ أﻧﺖ ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﻚ إ ِ ِﻲﻧ ﻛﻨ‬

Lā ilāha illā Anta subḥānaka innī kuntu

mina-ẓ-ẓālimīn.

There is no god worthy of worship except You; You are free from
all imperfection. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers. (21:87)

The Messenger of Allah  said: “The supplication of Dhun-Nūn

(Prophet Yūnus) when he supplicated, while in the belly of the
whale was: [the above]. No Muslim man ever supplicates with
[the above] except that Allah answers his supplication.”
(Tirmidhī)

ْ َ ْ ْ َ ْ ُّ َ ُ َّ َ ٰ َ ُ ْ َ ْ ُ ْ َ ْ ُ َّ َ ٰ َ
، ‫ ﻻ إِﻪﻟ إِﻻ اﷲ رب اﻟﻌﺮ ِش اﻟﻌ ِﻈﻴ ِﻢ‬، ‫ﻻ إِﻪﻟ إِﻻ اﷲ اﻟﻌ ِﻈﻴﻢ اﺤﻟﻠِﻴﻢ‬
ْ َ ْ َْ ْ َ
ُّ َ َ ْ ْ ُّ َ َ ٰ ٰ َّ ُّ َ ُ َّ َ ٰ َ
‫ت ورب اﻷر ِض ورب اﻟﻌﺮ ِش اﻟﻜ ِﺮ� ِﻢ‬ ِ ‫ﻻ إِﻪﻟ إِﻻ اﷲ رب ا�ﺴﻤـﻮ‬

Lā ilāha illā-llāhu-l-ʿĀẓīmu-l-Ḥalīm, lā ilāha illā-llāhu

Rabbu-l-ʿĀrshi-l-ʿAẓīm, lā ilāha illā-llāhu Rabbu-s-samāwāti wa
Rabbu-l-arḍi wa Rabbu-l-ʿĀrshi-l-karīm.

There is no god worthy of worship but Allah, the

Supreme, The Forbearing. There is no god worthy of
worship but Allah, Lord of the Magnificent Throne.
There is no god worthy of worship but Allah, Lord of the
heavens, Lord of the earth, Lord of the Noble Throne.

The Messenger of Allah  would invoke Allah at the

time of distress with [the above]. (Bukhārī)

Anxiety, Laziness, Debt

،‫ وأﻋﻮذ ﺑِﻚ ِﻣﻦ اﻟﻌﺠ ِﺰ واﻟﻜﺴ ِﻞ‬، ‫ا�ﻠﻬﻢ إ ِ ِﻲﻧ أﻋﻮذ ﺑِﻚ ِﻣﻦ ا�ﻬ ِﻢ واﺤﻟﺰ ِن‬
َ ّ ْ َ َ ْ َّ َ َ َ ُ
ْ َ ْ َ ُ َ ْ ْ َ ْ
ُْ َ َ ْ َ ُ ُ َ
ُ
ِ ‫ا�ﺮﺟ‬
‫ﺎل‬ ِ ‫ وأﻋﻮذ ﺑِﻚ ِﻣﻦ ﻏﻠﺒ ِﺔ اﺪﻟﻳ ِﻦ و�ﻬ ِﺮ‬، ‫ﻦﺒ واﺒﻟﺨ ِﻞ‬ ِ ‫وأﻋﻮذ ﺑِﻚ ِﻣﻦ اﺠﻟ‬

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min-l-hammi wa-l-ḥazan, wa aʿūdhu bika

min-l-ʿajzi wa-l-kasal, wa aʿūdhu bika min-l-jubni wa-l-bukhl, wa aʿūdhu
bika min ghalabati-d-dayni wa qahri-r-rijāl.

O Allah, I seek Your protection from anxiety and grief. I seek Your
protection from inability and laziness. I seek Your protection from
cowardice and miserliness, and I seek Your protection from being
overcome by debt and being overpowered by men.”

‫ﻲﺴ‬ْ ِ ‫ﻰﻟ �ﻔ‬ ْ ِ ‫�ﻠ‬
ٰ ِ ‫ﻲﻨ إ‬ ِ ‫ا�ﻠﻬﻢ رﻤﺣﺘﻚ أرﺟﻮ ﻓﻼ ﺗ‬
َ ْ َ َّ ٰ َ َّ ْ
ُ ْ َ ْ ْ ْ َ َْ ََْ َ
ُ َ
َ
‫ وأﺻﻠِﺢ ِﻲﻟ ﺷﺄ ِﻲﻧ ﻠﻛﻪ ﻻ إِﻪﻟ إِﻻ أﻧﺖ‬، ‫ﻦﻴ‬ ٍ � ‫ﻃﺮﻓﺔ‬

Allāhumma raḥmataka arjū fa-lā takilnī ilā nafsī

ṭarfata ʿayn, wa aṣliḥ lī sha’nī kullah lā ilāha illā Ant.

O Allah! Your Mercy is what I hope for so do not entrust

me to myself for the blink of an eye and rectify all of
my affairs. There is no god worthy of worship but You.
(Abu Dāwud)

Difficult Situation
ً ْ َ ُ َ ْ َ َ َ َّ َ ْ َ َ َّ ُ ّٰ َ
،‫ا�ﻠﻬﻢ ﻻ ﺳﻬﻞ إِﻻ ﻣﺎ ﺟﻌﻠﺘﻪ ﺳﻬﻼ‬
ً ْ َ َ ْ َ َ ْ َْ ُ َ ْ َ َ ْ ََ
‫وأﻧﺖ ﺠﺗﻌﻞ اﺤﻟﺰن إِذا ِﺷﺌﺖ ﺳﻬﻼ‬
Allāhumma lā sahla illā mā jaʿaltahū sahlā, wa
anta tajʿalu-l-ḥazna idhā shi’ta sahlā.

O Allah, there is no ease except in that which

You have made easy, and You make the
difficulty easy when You wish.
(Ibn Hibbān)

When Overwhelmed
With Difficulties
ُ ْ َْ َ ْ َ ُ َ ْ َ
‫ﺣﺴ ِﻲﺒ اﷲ وﻧِﻌﻢ ا�ﻮ�ِﻴﻞ‬

Ḥasbiyallāhu wa niʿmal Wakīl.

Allah is enough for me and He is

the Best Protector.
The Messenger of Allah  said:
“The last utterance of Ibrāhīm 
when he was thrown into the fire
was [the above].”

to Allah

ْ‫ أﺻﻠِﺢ ِﻲﻟ‬، ‫ ﺑ َﺮﻤﺣﺘِﻚ أﺳﺘ ِﻐﻴﺚ‬، ‫ﻲﺣ ﻳَﺎ �ﻴﻮم‬
ْ ْ َ َ َ ُ ْ ُّ َ ‫ﻳَﺎ‬
ِ
َ
َْ َ ْ َ ْ َ ٰ ْْ َ ْ َ
َ َ ُ ُ ْ َ َّ ْ
ٍ � ‫�ﻠ ِﻲﻨ إِﻰﻟ �ﻔ ِﻲﺴ ﻃﺮﻓﺔ‬
‫ﻦﻴ‬ ِ ‫ وﻻ ﺗ‬، ‫ﺷﺄ ِﻲﻧ ﻠﻛﻪ‬

Yā Ḥayyu yā Qayyūm, bi-raḥmatika astaghīth, aṣliḥ

lī sha’nī kullah, wa lā takilnī ilā nafsī ṭarfata ʿayn.

O The Ever Living, The Sustainer of all; I seek assistance

through Your mercy. Rectify all of my affairs and do
not entrust me to myself for the blink of an eye.
(Nasā’ī)
