Product TOTAL GUARD 17B01
Description Alkaline Liquid Boil-out Treatment

Benefits  Removes oil, grease, dirt & other organic contaminants from waterside
boiler surfaces.
 Ensures a clean system for start-up.
 Contains a low foaming surfactant to aid soil penetration.
 Contributes to efficient boiler operation.

Application TOTAL GUARD 17B01 is a non-phosphate, alkaline liquid boil-out treatment


for the removal of oil, grease, dirt and other organic contaminants from
waterside boiler surfaces.
Dose TOTAL GUARD 17B01 at 0.5% - 1.0%. Only add to the boiler when it is
half full, then fill completely. Do not add to an empty boiler.
Steam valves must be closed during the boil-out.
Raise the temperature slowly and maintain a slight pressure during boil-out.
Open blowdown valves regularly to keep lines clear.
On completion cool the boiler slowly, drain, flush with clean water and inspect.
The spent TOTAL GUARD 17B01 solution should be discharged according to
municipal regulations.

Packaging TOTAL GUARD 17B01 is available in 34 Kg plastic containers. Other


packaging is available upon request.

Safety Products in this category are highly alkaline in nature and have a pH >12.5. In
most cases contain some caustic alkalinity.
These products are ton-toxic, non-flammable and non-oxidizing.
Materials in this category are corrosive to body tissue.

PRODUCT INFORMATION
Handle with great care. Skin and eye contact must be avoided and gloves and
goggles should be worn, along with protective overalls and apron when
handling the product or solutions containing the product.
Do not store with Category D (acidic) products or materials.

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS


Ensure that the operator is fully informed and familiar with the use of the
product.
Avoid ingestion of the product by mouth and nose. To eliminate the possibility
of accidental ingestion, operator should never eat, drink or smoke when using
chemicals. In addition, protective clothing should be removed, and the hands
washed prior to eating, drinking or smoking.
Store in the original containers and ensure that the cap is always secure.
Do not store in temperatures above 40ºC or below 0ºC for extended periods.
Do not stack more than two high for prolonged periods.
Avoid storing near direct heat and in direct sunlight.
Store out of the reach of children and away from thoroughfares.
