This manual includes the procedures
for maintenance, disassembling, reas-
sembling, inspection and adjustment of ABS ABS
components and diagnostics for guid-
ance of experienced mechanics.

NOTE:
• Front and rear toe-ins and front camber can be
adjusted. If toe-in or camber tolerance exceeds
specifications, adjust toe-in and camber.
• Another items do not equipped with adjusting
mechanism. If the other items exceeds specifica-
tions, check suspension parts and connections for
deformities; replace with new ones as required.

General Description
REAR SUSPENSION
C: CAUTION
• Wear working clothing, including a cap, protec-
tive goggles, and protective shoes during opera-
tion.
• Before disposing shock absorbers, be sure to
bleed gas completely. Also, do not throw away in
fire.
• Before removal, installation or disassembly, be
sure to clarify the failure. Avoid unnecessary re-
moval, installation, disassembly, and replacement.
• Use SUBARU genuine grease etc. or the equiv-
alent. Do not mix grease etc. with that of another
grade or from other manufacturers.
• Be sure to tighten fasteners including bolts and
nuts to the specified torque.
• Place shop jacks or rigid racks at the specified
points.
• Before securing a part on a vise, place cushion-
ing material such as wood blocks, aluminum plate,
or shop cloth between the part and the vise.

Measure and adjust the front and rear wheel align-
ment together. Follow the procedure in “FS” section
“Wheel Alignment” for measurement and/or adjust-
ment of wheel alignment. <Ref. to FS-6, INSPEC-

1) Install in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE:
• Install the bushing while aligning it with paint
mark on stabilizer.
• Ensure that bushing and stabilizer have the
same identification colors when installing.
